Happy Birthday on Saturday, Oct. 16th.
Thanks. (It was actually the 16th, i corrected for you). Turned into a bad day at the track, but oh well.
Came home from a friends house at 12:30, fell asleep around 2:30, woke up at 5:30, loaded everything up, loaded the car at 7:00 (neighbor approved), got to the track at 8:00, first qualifying pass at 9:30am, Second at 11:30am, first round at 12:30, went out on a red light + car shut off at launch. Spet entire afternoon chasing wires and what such, found out the batteries (40 pound Optima's, mind you) were sliding back in the battery tray, and shorting out to the tail-light housing. Melted part of the post. So we applied about 20 layers of duct-tape and cardboard, and took a nap. Dad got the front seat of the truck, i was on the tailgate. Amazing what you will sleep through when you're tired.
I decided it would be better to go to our known set-up, so I raised the wheelie bars, dialed some stiffness into them, and put the launch chip back at 4700. 1st qualifying run for the night race at 6:45pm, First round was at 9:15, we flat out overpowered the track (dad was out of the groove not helping), ran a 5.98 on a 5.83 dial, dad had to lift. Came back around, took air out of the tires, first round for the double entry at 10:15pm. Car tried to rotate the earth this time, and we broke out, 5.802 on a 5.81 dial with a 1.26 60 foot (our 2nd best, ran a 1.25 at Kennedale last week on a 5.79 pass).
