I've heard the Turner Motorsports #37 Cup rumors too, but with Justin Allgaier as the driver instead of Piquet Jr.

Childress said over the weekend Newman is at the top of his list to replace Harvick in the #29.

Okay I will update the list with that info.

"It was curious when [#78-Kurt] Busch slipped last Thursday after he was asked a silly question about who he would prefer to have dinner with when given a list of drivers. His focus turned to #39-Ryan Newman, his former Penske Racing teammate with whom he experienced a not-so-friendly feud on and off the track as the two free agents searched for rides last year. "Maybe Newman and I need to have a sit-down, because we're both out there charging hard and trying to get into the Chase, and we're looking for rides," said Busch, who almost immediately regretted the last few words. Busch, 34, signed a one-year deal with Furniture Row Racing last year. Although team owner Barney Visser attempted to extend the contract with Busch after he posted three consecutive top-10 finishes to close out the 2012 season, the driver believed it was best to hold off.
And as Busch learned on Sunday - before he made the error of speeding down pit road twice, dropped to 38th and battled back to a fourth-place finish - FRR can produce cars capable of winning. That's a prospect not lost on his rival Newman, who has inquired about the possibility of a second team at FRR for 2014.
Yes, Busch is accustomed to competing with high-profile teams but those coveted seats are few and far between. There have been talks with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing and Richard Childress Racing but the driver landscape remains in flux.
On Sunday, Childress admitted that Newman, who will likely have the support of sponsor Quicken Loans, is topping his list of candidates for the #29 ride being vacated by Kevin Harvick. In the winner's post-race interview, Michael Waltrip acknowledged that Brian Vickers "is our guy." "We're trying to get all the pieces together so he can drive the #55 and race for the championship next year," Waltrip said.
Furniture Row Racing has no issues with Busch testing the market - as long as it doesn't become a distraction for the team."

Oops...

As far as I have heard Kurt has a contract with Furniture Row for this year only. Will he resign or go to RCR???

Hmmm , tough decision for RCR , hire Kurt away from their friends at Furniture Row and set him up in an unsponsored car or hire Ryan Newman who sponsors love and will likely be bringing a big sponsor with him. That's a toughie racer 8 . Maybe some of the smarter guys have an opinion.

Its sad that things come down to that these days...

I completly forgot about how much sponsors have a huge input on who drives their car.

They have pretty much all the input in most cases . In some cases , a persuasive guy like a Joe Gibbs can influence the sponsors , but most times it is their dime.

Joey's staying where he is, I guess bread could talk about that for a week or so.

Lay off the energy drinks there bread, I'm wearing my fingers out trying to keep up with your Canadian ass on all these threads. :p
I'm bored. Usually dont have the time alone mid day. Work, kid, girlfriend.. Im bored what can I say this place needs some action. Good thing its Daytona.
Dang I was checking in to see how he was getting Joey into this one?
Well... I could somehow bring in AJ running the 22 full time in NNS next season. Possibly taking Joey out of the NNS for the first full season of his career and ending a few streaks like consecutive years with poles/wins etc. Maybe Penske runs a third car in NNS with his Cup and development drivers splitting the races. Or bring Sam Hornish to Cup in the 12, gives the 12 in NNS to AJ and keeps the others in the 22.... which is a legitimate possibility actually... thanks for bringing it up.

Im actually more interested in what Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman are going to do though. Harvick/Newman seat swap? Kurt to the 29? Maybe the 33? When's Burton gona retire? and will Austin Dillon be in the 3 full time next year?

Yeah I mean I could talk about how the new team has boosted his confidence and brought out more of the driver him and that after a few more years in that environment it will be very good for his development into a top tier driver and how he will make the 22 his legacy lol....

...Buut that would be off topic.

Dinger is better than the 47 JWG car, I would rather see him in a Penske NWS ride, that would simplify running the Indianapolis 500 as well.

12 going on 30? Just a guess but hell my wife says I'm 12/70 and refuse to grow up. :D

I know I am getting old cause my hair quit growing on my head and started coming out my ears!
