Ok i got this idea from another message board, an di basilcy copyied it from there to here, Thanks Coach P. But for the intrest of this board i changed it some his was for the IRL and 20 races ours will be for Winston Cup for 34 races (they need a smaller schedule)not including the Bud Shootout and the Winston.

I've pulled out an old list of racetracks I have. Pick your 34 race schedule. I've given a list of tracks, but you can use one that I have forgot if you want. I think it's fairly understandable that dirt tracks will not be part of an NASACR schedule anytime soon, so please leave them off. Also, only current tracks. No tracks that are gone and demolished.

Thats 30 races on 23 tracks

Was that initial post 55 races? That would be more than one a week.......only 52 of those a year! All over the world too!:) Doubt if you could find many drivers willing to take on that schedule.:)

that was a list of all the tracks that are big enought for Cup. Yes a couple would need more seat but the track whould be bigg enought

I'd leave the schedule as is, with the following modifications:

ELIMINATE: Second race at Daytona and Talladega. Both events at New Hampshire. Personally, I think they have no business at Indy either, but everyone else seems to like it, so by the skin of its teeth, it can stay. See, I can be reasonable.

ADD: Second date at either Texas or Kansas, plus add Kentucky, Nashville, and Hickory.

CHANGE: Last race of the season from Miami to Atlanta like it used to be. Move the Vegas race to late in the season, put Miami in its slot for travel considerations. If yer gonna be in Phoenix, go to Vegas in a consecutive week. Give the teams one week break in the fall, they MUST be exhausted by now. Make all races at Bristol, Richmond, Martinsville, and one at Charlotte plus two other events night races. 25%, in other words.

Of course, I'd like to see 4 Darlington races a year, but that ain't fair.

I would like to see all short tracks but that isn't fair either.

I agree with TNW, with the second date at Texas. I would prefer the race we have now to be swapped with one of the later spring/early summer races - It rains EVERY year during the race weekend. At least TMS is improving the campground situation so that so many people aren't going to get stuck in the mud with their campers after it is over. That would be my only changes to your list TNW. :p

-eliminate all second race dates except Daytona, Bristol, and New Hampshire
-no more Miami
-add races at Portland, Mid-Ohio, Road America, Leguna Seca, Long Beach, and Pikes Peak; areas where there actually should be more races
-about 1/4 of the races would be at night

The road courses would make things more fun and intersting

*New Hampshire's asphalt would be ripped up and the whole thing would be converted into a dirt track

 They take a Darlington race, I'm gonna be pissed. :leap: :headshake :headshake :kaioken:

All I want to see changed is more road courses, 2 races of one type of track is just stupid.
