Just announced....Lee Malvo Jury came back and sentenced him to LIFE without possibility of parole.

Great, so now the guy who killed a bunch of people gets supported by we taxpayers for the rest of his life of free luxury. I bet he gets cable, I don't even have cable.

I know what your'e saying! :dual9mm:

Did you know thay most prison inmates receive better meals than our children do for school lunches. They have access to books, gym equipment, computers and yes esorl. even cable. Not to mention the ones that are being "rehabilatated," they have access to a free education. All paid for by the taxpayers, aren't we generous.

This is off-topic kinda but...

Well, the prisoners who are being rehabilitated need some sort of direction to follow , many of the criminals who go into our prisons have not had an education, most havent even graduated through high school, most dont even have a job they probably couldnt even get one if they tried. They need some sort of direction to follow, like giving them a job after their release so chances are their likelihood of committing crimes would be lessened. If they dont have a way to earn money or some sort of education, then they are more likely to commit crimes, that is the reason why our recidivist rate in past years has grown.

Back on topic now, I dont really have an opinion, however I will offer some analysis from what little I know of law. I think this came as a surprise, the jury may have believed that Malvo was indoctrinated, however I dont believe any of that story one bit. The odds against him getting the life penalty were pretty heavy, speaking that the state of Virginia has executed people for crimes committed below 18 years of age. So in a way, the defense's objective was to cut their losses through the trial, and their objective of making it looked like Malvo was brainwashed may have worked to some affect.

I think it's all :bslfag: anyway. He should have been sentenced to death just like his victoms.  :dual9mm: :dual9mm:

Not to start a major debate or anything, but maybe if more of the taxpayer money went to education to begin with than there wouldn't be so many people in prison getting a free education. I personally don't think educating criminals keep them from commiting more crimes. There are lots of good people in this world that do not have much of an education but choose to be a positive part of society.

I agree with you Happy, but life without the possibility of parole, what's the use? He's not going anywhere anyway, they need to rid the taxpayers of that bill just like alot of others just like him and there will be more money to go to education.

I was speaking about the inmates who are being rehabilitated, not the Malvo case. Sorry for the confusion.

Many of those inmates that are uneducated because they chose to be. They thought they could make big bucks on the streets sell drugs and in gangs. But there are many that sliped through the cracks. It's really a mess. :(

Right Virginia has executed people below 18 for crimes...heck, when Bush was Gov. of Texas, didn't they execute mentally handicapped people too?

It bothers me greatly that our tax money is going to go to feeding and providing health care for a person such as this. Bragging and even laughing about the murders makes it even more hard to swallow.

For the price of one bullet they could end the story that he himself chose to write for his life.
