In case you guys missed the original thread about this game. Pick your top 10 by manufacturer. Each correct position is 1 point.

This is an example of how to do it as well as my picks for this week:

1. Chevy
2. Chevy
3. Toyota
4. Ford
5. Chevy
6. Toyota
7. Chevy
8. Chevy
9. Ford
10. Toyota

There's only 4 weeks left so I figure it's a good test to see who wants in. It'll be short so make sure you guys play because we'll be crowning a champion soon lol

Okay:
Chevy
Toyota
Chevy
Toyota
Toyota
Chevy
Ford
Chevy

8- T
9- C
10- F

Whoever wins a game like this, especially a full season of it, will have to be lucky as hell to win it. Probably fun though, I'll play next year if you run it.

Agreed. I think it will be fun. I run a NASACR Fantasy game on Facebook and I've been trying to think of a game to run on here. I think this one will be alright. It's definitely going to be a tough game to win though. That'll just make it more competitive hopefully... and whoever does take it will have earned their bragging rights.

1 point each? lol

You're going to end up with a bunch of ties that way.

I might make it top 5 and worth 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 I duno Im just startin it up... the real game will be more next season.. just testin the waters... how bout u just make ur picks or get out of my thread :p

Like taking a multiple choice test when you don't have a clue as to what's being asked and just pick "C" for all of the answers, I'm going with Chevy, one through ten.

Hokay.

Also... it wouldn't matter how many points each is worth... if its gona be a tie its gone be a tie lmao

Easy there my young padawan, just trying to help tune out your game abit with some common sense.

As you put it, position 1-10 give out the same amount of points so there is little chance of catching up. You can literally pick the correct answers for all ten spots seem as how the Chevy far outnumber any car brands in NASCAR so all you have to do is play the odds which in this case heavily favors one car brand and its not hard to figure out which one that is.

But hey, its your game. Play on.

So yeah there's a few holes in this game.. I'll tweak it by the time 2014 comes.. I'm already thinking about new things like which manufacturer will lead the most laps, get the pole etc.. I think that could help.. I might bring it down to top 5 and then bonus points or something for that other stuff... I'll figure that out in the off season.

I like the idea of cutting it down to the top 5. As far as adding some other stuff, my advice is to use the KISS method.
The more stuff you add to it the more confusing and hard to follow it'll get.

Good luck.

I'm not sure yet about adding the other stuff.. . I like the idea of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point(s).. and top 5 will just make the math take less time for me lol

Here's a tweak for you, have points divided by the number of car the manufacturer has in the field. For example, base points for a win are 100, if a Chevy wins and there are 17 Chevys in the field, it will score someone 100/17= 5.9 points. If a Ford won and there were only 11 Fords in the field, a person that got that correct would get 100/11= 9.1 points. And so on for other points positions.

It's a little complex, but it equalizes the risk reward relationship.

I like the game idea and I think you could make it quite fun with those risk trade offs.

That's a good idea.. I may use it.

I've decided to cut it down to 5.. For those who have picked I will just take your top 5 and use those. Points will go 5-4-3-2-1... I don't plan on changing anything else before the 2014 season and am open to suggestion. Good luck everyone!

I think if anything this point system places an emphasis on winning, while also rewarding "consistency"... Guessing the top 2 would get someone more points than someone who guessed 3 through 5 correctly, but if you can guess 2, 4, and 5 you'd get more points than someone who got 1st and 5th.. I think that's good. Im still trying to think of a way to handicap the manufacturers with less cars in the field without an algorithm lol it's a work in progress. Not only am I open to suggestion but I encourage it... actually any advice would be appreciated. If anyone has a good way to do that inbox me.

I'll probably play it next year Slice. I'm not a fan of asterisk championships. :p
