Who's ya'lls fav teams going in to Conf torneys. and on route to the big dance.

I will do a write up on the OVC tomm.

Well, I can say for sure that without a doubt, my two favorites teams, the Sooners of OU and the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest won't be going to the big dance, so now I have to see who I will root for. Maybe I'll just wait and see if there will be any good games to watch. :)

The Ohio State University Buckeyes are my favorite. They will be a #1 seed but I really don't think they have a very good chance of winning it all. They are too inexperienced and have too many holes in their offense. Greg Oden is the best player in college right now, but he is still less than a year out of high school.

I also like Duke, probably for much the same reason I like Jeff Gordon, because everybody else hates them. They will likely make it into the tournament, but I can't see them doing much once they get in. Coach K is the best in the business, but he just doesn't have quite enough talent right now. And the talent he does have is too inexperienced also.

Muck Furray! Let's go Peay! :D

haha j/k man, I grew up in Clarksville and my parents went there so I rooted for them when I was a kid. I'm an MTSU fan since I just graduated from there a little over a year ago, but don't really follow basketball aside from the Big Dance.

I like North Carolina. Duke will surprise some people.

The Big 10 will fall apart as usual. :)

The best team in the Country is the Duke women.

:p They are 1-1 in meeting this season. I think the last time i seen AP and MSU play was a few years back and one of the AP players were ejected from the game for starting a fight.

I don't really know much about the teams, but here is my prediction for the OVC O'Reilly Championship

#1 Austin Peay sould have an easy Win over #8 Tennessee State.

#4 Murray State will play host to #5 Samford.
This game should be close. It's almost a givin' for MSU to jump out to a 10point lead then blow it and lose the game in the last few mins of the game. So far this seasion they are 1-1. Murray will have an upper hand at home IF and only if the students and fans of the Racers will pack the RSEC. If it is a low fan turnout, i belive Samford will take the win, but Iv got to go with the Racers in this one.

#2 Eastern KY VS #7 Morehead State.
The teams have met Twice in the 06-07 year, and EKU has took the sweep and won both games. EKU winner.

#3 Tennessee Tech VS #6 Southeast Mo.
TTU Winner

(2nd round - AP VS MSU - MSU Winner. EKU VS TTU - EKU Winner
Finals - MSU VS EKU - MSU Winner

For MSU to win in Nashville, they will need there FANS. They have not had a good year at all. Yes it is a 1st year coach, but i do not think he is right for the team. I belive that If murray can win this years OVC it will help carry over in to next year, and give them an exter boost.

Team OVC Overall
Austin Peay 16-4 19-10
Eastern Kentucky 13-7 18-11
Tennessee Tech 13-7 18-12
Murray State 13-7 16-13
Samford 12-8 15-15
Southeast Missouri State 9-11 11-19
Morehead State 8-12 12-17
Tennessee State 8-12 12-19
Jacksonville State 7-13 9-21
Eastern Illinois 6-14 10-20
UT Martin 5-15 8-23

Don't go countin' chickens before they hatch. Ohio State's women's team is going to be tough in the tournament.
Remember last year. The Final Four had 3 teams from the ACC. The same could happen this year. U-Conn and Tennessee are also looking good. That was a humdinger of a game today between Duke and N.C. women. I kept switching back and forth between the game and the race.

btw the Duke vs Maryland game this year tied the ACC record of 17,500 attendance.

If we're talking women's b-ball, how about my 17th ranked MTSU Blue Raiders!! 26-3 overall w/two of the losses coming to Maryland & Tennessee & a perfect 18-0 in conference play.

I sure hope Tennessee gets a #1 this year in the tourney. They got shafted last year.

This thread reminded me to see how my MTSU Blue Raiders were doing! We actually won in the first round of the Sun Belt tourney. On to Lafeyette, Louisiana, to play top-seeded South Alabama on Sunday.

MT women shouldn't have a problem winning the Sun Belt tourney. Their avg margin of victory in conference play was somewhere between 15 & 20. They are safely in the big dance even if they lose, though.

The girls play good basketball. You sould try watching some of their games too. I say TN will win it all this year. (girls)

TN boys ain't too shabby now.

Pat better keep her cheerleading job.:)
There are 3 teams in the ACC better than Tennessee this year, again.:)
It should be a humdinger of a womens NCAA tournament.
My number 1 seeds:
Duke
North Carolina
Tennessee
U-Conn

She can keep her cheerleading outfit, but the girls have already beaten U-conn. Duke and NC seems to be where they are having their problem.

I am watching the Duke vs UVA women's game in the ACC tournament. UVA is playing a valiant game but are losing at halftime 38 to 25. The Waner sisters are killing UVA. Abby Waner has hit 5 treys and sister Emily has 2 treys.....in the first half. woo-hoo, great basketball.

Couldn't find a smilie for this so...YAWN! Wake me when this is over. Not much of a women's basketball fan, even though the media, schools and just about everyone else has been pushing it down my throat for some time.

So it seems that the women's team from Winston Salem State University isn't even considered? Hmmmm, do they even have a team? Having lived here for over 11 years now, I've never heard of the Lady Rams. I suspect that the Lady Demon Deacons could probably beat those ramblin Lady Rams, if they exist.

Surely you joke. It would be difficult to even mention them in the same breath with Duke. :D It would be like comparing Tony Stewart with Derrike Cope (sorry Derrike).:)

Women's College basketball is an exciting game to watch, especially if you like teamwork in sports. Teamwork is missing in many of the men's BB teams, except for the Princeton team a few years back. Heck buckaroo, wake up before you miss it all.

Sorry muggle, I'll pass on this one. You can have both the women's and men's basketball. To me, this sport has gone the way of evil spirits. Gangster hip hop is the only way for the majority of the players and I can live without that. If I want to see gladiators out on the field, give me good old American football where the men rule!

Now if I want to watch some women playing a sport, give me mud wrest...rassling. Yeah, that's it. Now that I'll watch!:beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang: See how quickly the stands will get filled for that sport. The only problem with that would be what team would I root for?

Well, you could root for the one with the biggest ........:D

As big of a college football and college basketball I am, ST for both for what seems like forever, I seldom watched a women's BB game. The only time was when my daughter was young because she played in HS and wanted to see the women play. But, she went to college on an academic scholly and not a sports. She was quite the PF and had a couple of offers. So count me as ehhh as well...

Ok, getting a little serious here. :) Every person is entitled to watch and enjoy whatever sport they desire. It is not mandatory for anyone, that I know of, to watch certain sports.

I enjoy women's basketball as much, if not more than, any other sport being played. I am not alone as women's College BB is fast becoming very popular and the venues are frequently sold out. The women's ACC tournament this year has sold 67,000+ tickets for the 4 day event. The reason that I watch is I enjoy teamwork in a sport and the women play it to perfection. These young ladies are talented, competitive, and play a very good game. Todays exceptional teams like Tennessee, U-Conn, Duke, N.C, Maryland, Stanford, etc are bringing the game to new heights. For me, nothing is more exciting than to watch March Madness featuring the women.

TN and Duke got beat today.

Guess Duke was the last undefeated team left.

A true storybook type game. Everyone just went crazy after the game. Kay Yow came back after a 2 month absence due to cancer and many games she was really fighting it. One game she had to be taken out on a stretcher. To beat the number one team in the Nation is just unbelievable..
Her chances of being with us next year are not good. However, she is a fighter.

Murray State women lost today. SEMO beat them by 2 for the OVC title. They Lady Racers have never won the OVC, but just as the guys have won 13 but went out in the 1st round always next year....

I watched the end of the AP and EKU game, AP made a heck of a come back, EKU just started playing stupid, blew an 11 point lead with just a few mins left in the game, but EKU somehow held AP off and won the mens OVC Title

Duke , Tennessee, and Murray State all lost their conference tournaments. However, the big one will be upon us soon. They will all have a chance of redeeming themself.

I can hardly wait to see the ACC Tournament Championship game today between North Carolina and N.C. State. Except for the diehard N.C. fans everyone is pulling for Kay Yow's State team to win it.

Both MTSU men & women won their first games of their respective conf tourneys! MT men will face #1 seed South Alabama in the men's quarterfinals. MT women will face #4 seed Denver in the women's semifinals.

halftime: N.C. Stae 27 - N.C. 24

Latta has 3 fouls. NC St tough on the boards.

Great game

North Carolina beats N.C. State by the score of 60 to 54 and wins the ACC Tournament. Ivory Latta comes through in the clutch for N.C. Great game. The NCAA Women's East Regionals will be played in Greensboro. I am going to try to get tickets.
