Marcus Ambrose moving to Cup

Why Ang, Rusty still anounces (kinda sorta) LOL Glad to here it, Brad and Marcus, the best of luck!!! Duane:beerbang:

I read they will switch from ford to chevy, they better be getting all their equip. from hendrick or that team is gonna struggle to get into the top 35.

Where did you read about this switch? Ambrose has been a Ford man for a long time.

The only thing I could find was a blip on Jayski that said the team could switch, but that was even before Daugherty bought into the team. I just don't see it, but it would probably help him in the long run...unless he got a ride in one of Roush's Fords.

I think Marcose is a cool guy and all but is he really a Cup caliber driver? He hasn't shown me too much in either of his rides so far.

It's a hard question to answer. But keep in mind that he's been in a more or less second tier team since he's been here. The only time he really shined was on the road course and that's his background.

My friend has told me that Marcos was relentless in Australia, and was one of the most aggressive drivers down there. He hasn't shown much of that here and I believe that it's his thoughts that he must learn to drive with these guys here and to learn oval racing. He's been racing here now for two and a half years and so his seat time is getting a good workout. I'm of the mind that if he is going to do well, he needs not just good equipment, but plenty of backing form both the top teams (Roush) but also from Ford. Otherwise, he will just be another back marker and his carreer will be cut short for lack of good finishes. I think that he's been part of the diversity project to try and get international interest in NASCAR.

Right that is what i thought too, but don't count on him getting much factory support whether it be Chevy or Ford. All the makers are cutting back significantly , i wouldn't be surprised if Chevy pulls out all together. The big 3 are a hurting bunch right now.

I don't think so.

Agreed. He seems like a super nice guy and I'd like to see him succeed. He hasn't shown much yet.

:sarcasm:Yeah those guys in the lower series who can't race well can't win in Cup, can they? I mean look at Tony Stewart. He really stunk up the track when running in the Busch series for Ranier. I don't know why Gibbs ever took a chance on him. And then there's Jimmie Johnson. He couldn't drive worth a darn in Busch. :sarcasm:
