Mario Andretti wants Montagny banned for life for doping

Racing legend Mario Andretti has called on Franck Montagny to be banned for life for doping.

Former Super Aguri racer Montagny, a 37-year-old Frenchman, was suspended from the FIA-sanctioned new Formula E series recently when he tested positive for a cocaine derivative.

Let the man get back on his feet. Don't strip him of his livelihood. If we gave Allmendinger another shot, Montangy should get another shot as well. The FIA is completely different from NASCAR though. All respect due to Mario as well and Montangy is nothing more than a sports car journeyman. His stint in F1 with Super Aguri did more harm than good.

Maybe Mario knows something more, maybe he is a chronic user. I have little or no tolerance for substance abuse.

But I would prefer something like Nascar's model.

He appears to have a history with cocaine. It was in the original article, but it looks like fox has changed the story..
