You're probably correct.

Maybe Milquetoast will be offered a full time Nationwide ride with Gibbs where he can grow up and drive.

Maybe Carl is trying to draw Home Depot over to Roush by forming a relationship during negotiations. I'm not sure when their JGR contract is up, but an early buyout is possible. Matt needs a sponsor, and maybe Scotts and AFLAC would go for the much lower price Matt commands.

Long shot, but weird things happen with sponsors.

I know one guy who is rooting for Carl to leave Roush. Matt Kenseth deserves better than having to deal with a thug.
