Earlier this year, rumors flew that Mark Martin will retire after next season when his contract with Roush Racing expires, but that might not be the case.

"About the only way I would consider retiring is if I finished 40th in the points,'' Martin said Sunday after placing second at Dover.

"It's a good thing to be challenging to win. If I had a year like last year, I was pretty miserable, but we have some things to sort out over the next four to six weeks, but retirement is not what I'm sorting out. That's not what I'm sorting out.

"We're sorting some things out, but it's not retirement. I know a lot of people are speculating that, but that's not exactly it.''

I wonder if his sorting out has anything to do with Burton? Hmmmm,...

I think he's sorting his socks...ya know the white one's the black one's...the knee highs... :p

He could go another 10-15 years with his sponsor. Ooops wrong sport. :)

So ol' Mark's up for another year of hard charging and stiff competition, eh? That's good. He'll be OK as long as the race doesn't last longer than 4 hours. If it does, he should see his doctor immediately.
