Martin gets another shot in 2008

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —Appearing in the Daytona media center Thursday to promote his appearance at next week's Grand Am Rolex Series race at Iowa Speedway, Mark Martin talked about his close call in the Daytona 500, where he ran second to Kevin Harvick after leading most of the final lap.
"I led 26 3/4 laps and never got passed on the restarts, even the last one," Martin said. "Going into Turn 3 (of the final lap), I thought I could close the deal, but when Kyle Busch wrecked behind me, my chances went down significantly (because when Busch crashed, Martin lost his drafting partner)."
But Martin will get another chance to win the race he covets most next year.
"The (No.) 01 (Ginn Racing) team is going to give me another shot at it -- another crack at it in '08," Martin said.
