Mark Martin and Roush Racing will be making a major announcement Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Note: This was from a Roush Racing press release.

He's probably gonna say that its been a long, hard year. He's been able to to run in the top 10 and keep it up for a little while, hence the reason he's in the Chase. Next year will probably be his final stand and he'll continue to make his position rise as much as he can.

 Well put! His car will still be stiff in the corners and he'll stretch it out down the straights.

I just made the mistake of reading this thread with a mouth full of pepsi.....now that's all over my keyboard. :(

You guys are too much!!!!!!!!! :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL:

Okay about MM again and not his sponsor... I've got a huge Marky fan as a freind and when I say huge, we're talking about that she's got her house full of Mark Martin stuff...except for anything that has the word Viagra on it. She just never could accept the fact that Mark took Viagra on as a sponsor. I'm betting she is hoping that his announcement tells all that he is changing sponsorships.

Mark has always been a sort of an enigma to me. I like to think of him as a pure racer, very unlike so many of todays drivers who have to juggle between sponsor and driving. Yeah, Mark has always had to do this, but I don't think that it's ever been a driving force with him in order to keep his ride. But for some reason, I, along with many others have seen this man appear to be in such dire depression even when he wins that I wonder what is going on in his life. It's clear that there are few in this sport that puts as much effort into training and he has so much talent. In so many ways I hope that this season, he can finally find that ellusive Cup championship that he has strived so long for, but then again, when I think about who he is driving for, I rethink that thought. What ever happens, what ever Mark decides, I will always remember Mark as the youngster who rolled his car over during a race at Riverside and then he hustled back to the pits on foot to get someone to help him get the car uprighted again so he could drive it. Talk about drive.

The announcement is expected to be that Pfizer (and Viagra) are extending their sponsorship through 2006. Mark has previously said that he would like to retire after 2006 and this would synch the sponsorship up with his retirement.

Can't remember where I read that so I can't link it (but you can bet it wasn't Mulhern.) ;)
