Mark Martin to Red Bull?

Which car does Martin take over or does Red Bull become a 3 car team? I personally think this is a slight of hand and that Martin will end up buying Phoenix Racing and racing as an owner/driver. ExtenZe moves over to the #09(ok, probably not that last part).

I hope this isn't a sign that Vickers may be done with racing. Redbull is not giving up on Speed yet.

As poorly as that team has been doing this year , they sure could use a Mark Martin or a Bobby Labonte to get them back on track and headed in a better direction for next year. Good as Speed is , I don't think he has the experience to tell them what is wrong with their program.

I wouldnt be shocked(and I have mentioned this before) if Red Bull uses this as an excuse to opt out of Vickers contract, whether he is healthy or not. They are very fast and loose with their employees.

Mark Martin use to be my favorite driver when he was driving a Ford. Since he's been driving a Chevy it's been hard for me to pull for him. JMO but I think Martin should move over to the Rolex Series driving a prototype, I know at one point someone over there had offered him a ride. I think he would do very well in that series, and could end up a big star over there. I for one would follow that series more closely if Martin were involved in it.

agreed. The fact that rolex allows power steering, and with Mark as built up as he is, I think he'd do good. plus alot less hard hits. I'm trying to think how old some of the guys in the SunTrust team are, i think Wayne Taylor is in his upper 30's or lower 40's.

Since Mark is so much into physical fitness it would be ironic for him to drive for and be sponsored by Red Bull.

And the denial:

UPDATE: Martin's Business Manager, Benny Ertel, called the reports "aggravating," saying his driver has grown tired of answering the same questions, week after week. "It's the same thing, over and over again," he said. "We walk into the media center and someone immediately raises their hand and asks about where Mark will be racing next season. Mark has answered the question a thousand times and it's always the same answer. `I will be driving the #5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports next season.' That's as simple as it is, but some reporters just don't listen."
"Randy Pemberton went on Sirius NASCAR Radio the other day and said Mark will be driving for Red Bull next season," said Ertel. "There's not a shred of truth to that statement, and he never bothered to ask Mark, Rick Hendrick or anyone else about it. If he had asked, he would have been told -- in no uncertain terms -- that it was a load of hooey. I don't know what's so difficult to understand, Mark Martin will drive the #5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports next season. Period."(Sirius Speedway)(7-8-2010)

So when will the announcement be made?

Maybe Mark's not going to Red Bull. Maybe Red Bull is coming to him. Either in the 5 for HMS or the 09 as owner? Who knows??????

I don't see Red Bull "Going to" anyone. If there is anyone in NA__AR who has even more money to play with racing, it's Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz. I believe that he could probably buy and sell HMS.

A load of hooey.....

Their words, not mine. Rumor denied.

But it seems, more often than not, these a lot of these rumors end up being denied, only to come out as true a few short months later.
