I know most of you are fans of the other heros of Nascar,But it really is unfair how the media neglects to talk to the man who is 2nd in points,if nothing else,Let alone he finished 5th Am I partial,Yes maybe I am,But this is a bunch of crap how the TV boneheads neglect the talent of this race car driver,Maybe that's why I am a fan of his.Go straight to hell all you media misfits,And I hope the Nelson ratings forget your talents the way you have forgotten a talented race car driver as Mark Martin.

Yeah Ill agree with you on that Pbunch. But it was TNT and they dont usually interview any more than 3 drivers besides the winner. I dont think it is neglect, just sort of putting him aside a bit. Im sure if Mark Had finished 4th he would have been interviewed. They cant ignore him forever.

I am partial,But they all do the same thing.I will get over it, I have for the last 10 yrs.I hope he gets what he has worked so hard for.:)

I remember a time when nearly the whole top 10 was interviewed...and sometimes more. Now its just interview a few and get the hell out of there.

Mark stays in second and keeps moving in on Sterling they will have to pay him attention........but Mark's a low profile kind of guy so I doubt he cares one way or other. And for TRL........I must have missed Kevin's interview too.:)

I just better shut up,I can tell why this happens allready.I bet MArks sponser gives a $HIT.

If they did that, how would they show commercials?

TRL, I think they interviewed Kevin...I remember seeing him on something, it might have been on the show on Speedvision...

Mark Martin does not make good press.

I mean when was the last time he was cute? Or funny? Or controversial? Or anything besides just a guy that happens to drive a racecar for a living?

I mean my gosh, the dude makes DJ seem exciting.

True 71,But I thought this was Nascar racing, not a personality contest. The day I gotta like someone for his hair,or whatever else besides racing I am done.

What appeals to the TV audience is the guy that looks the best and has the best hair or has the best personality. They could care less about the veteran who got the top 5. After all why do you think J. Gordon and JR get so much airtime?

Bill,Its a waist of energy to be this frustrated when my driver did finish 5th,I guess I am being a little selfish, childish.Oh well on to Bristol where its a whole new story.Have a nice week all my forum friends,I am going to bed.Good night. :)

Mark Martin is imo the best driver in nascar at this moment. I watched him cut thru lapped traffic earlier this year and I have never seen anything like that in my entire life.

The man is a master behind the wheel.

Would be nice to see Mark win the championship. He's certainly more deserving than any other driver I know. That's about the only thing he hasn't won.

And the Brickyard And Daytona 500....2 races that he should and deserves to win. His career is highly underrated.

Mark is only more deserving when he gets the most points.....it's not a popularity contest. I'm not a Mark Martin fan by a long shot but he is one fantastic driver..........but to say he deserves it is just not true. He deserves it when he wins.:)

I think that even Fox did a better job, even with boogity.

Hope this helps pb:) PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Mark is my number 2 guy. I have been a fan since the old blue Stroh's Light days. He has never gotten the media attention he deserves, and he likely won't until next year, when he is the defending WC champion. I kinda think Mark likes it that way too. Plus, look at those forearms....then imagine you are a photog. Who ya gonna harass, Mark or, well, some other nameless driver from another team. Mark does his talking behind the wheel, where it matters. And I think he has a lot to say this year.

Hate to say it Pbunch but i think most of todays fan base rely on this method of choosing a driver. As far as Martin, he's one of the classiest out there, but he's an old fart. Not good tv.

I'm with you Pbunch in my mind though NBC is the kiss of death as soon as they talk about how good someone is doing something happens to them.Just let them do what they want and we wil get to see alote of Mark when he is at the head table in the Waldorff.

GO MARK!

it's too bad that the older guys don't get more TV recognition.........if it wasn't for the 40 and older crowd, NASCAR would not be where it is now............oh well............i don't think that the 40+ crowd minds the less attention anyways, they have been hownded for 20 some years, and i bet they like the break from the media......IMO:)

Ya Fano5,I am 43,And I can't say I miss all that media attention,Those Damn camera men make you just want to punch them sometimes.:p And all that money,Who needs it anyway. :D

i am 26 and i would love some media attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. it must get frustrating, but not enough to throw blows though.IMO

I hope ol' Mark gets his second title this year.He deserves it and twelve years since Nascar robbed him of his first title is a long time!

MARK MARTIN: The REAL 1990 WC champion!
