The writer of the article is way off base and obviously a Sterling Marlin fan. She should take a realistic look at her view.
As classy as a person as is Sterling Marlin is, he is at the twilight of his career. Amy Hair commented Sterling shakes hands with strangers and signs autographs. That is part of his job. A job he had been well rewarded for over his thirty years in NASCARs premiere series.
If Sterling had been a driver for Ginn Racing for the thirty years of his career, there might be a modicum of sympathy here, but just like real life, every drivers position with a race team, regardless of time employed is a balancing act and can change daily. Most recent example, Kyle Busch.
Unfortunate, yes. Undeserved, perhaps. But it should never be unexpected in this business.
