Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone else had any interest in the NASA Mars Rover. I try to keep up everyday with what is going on. It is fascinating to be able to see the pictures the rover sends back.
I am beginner backyard astronomer as well as a NASCAR fan. I love to sit in the backyard and just look up at the sky and try to name the objects I see. I am just getting familiar with the sky and wondered if anyone else shared my interest.
I have an interest in this too FR. It's my opinion the human race has only two real choices in the long term: The jungle or the stars. I say we reach as far as we can---and the Mars rover is a perfect starting point. Incredible how the landscape of Mars in some of the shots is not that different from Earth.
Hey 97, It is amazing how some of the pics look like Earth.
I check out the JPL site every night to see the new pictures and also to hear the daily breifings they have.
I have always kept up with everthing NASA has done and hope one day they will have manned Mars missions. They say they are working on it but it could be 20 or 30 years from now. I hope I will live long enough to see it happen.
I made this statement in another post some time back. Man has no other choice but to reach for the stars, Someday we will use up all the Earths resorces what then .. We will have to go to space.
