Otherwise known as, "Short Track, Long Chili".

This would have been decent had I not taken Nyquil, fallen asleep without shutting off the gas, and cooked the slop all night long. It was hot as hell last night after cooking for three hours, but was balanced by the coffee, sweet onions, and tomato. This morning, after more than eleven hours of cooking, it lost all its heat and had a faint bitter undertone. I didn't have time to doctor it up, as the race was in its final laps when I finally got to plating. I guess I should be grateful it was edible.

Oh, well. Better luck next time. At least I don't have a stomach ache. Yet. And I think I got a little buzz from the espresso. Thanks for all the tips, HS.!

Maybe I should've tried adding grape jelly this morning. ;)

This Slop I Call Chili

- beef and pork, hand chopped
- bacon
- dark red kidney beans
- onions
- garlic
- bunch of peppers, including chipotle, jalapeno, poblano, and green bell
- roasted cumin seeds, dried Ancho & New Mexico chilis, ground
- whole tomatos, crushed by hand
- some other stuff

Garnish

- diced red onions
- shredded cheddar cheese
- diced jalapenos
- diced tomatoes
- sour cream
- cilantro

Served with Fritos :D

Maybe I can improve on this when I reheat it next. (As if it needs more cooking.)

Coulda, woulda, shoulda...

THATS PRETTY.........................BET IT TASTED GOOD TOO....:)

Well Abooja...ask DE about the time he cooked jaelpeno peppers or something like that and what happened? I think it was a good story.......

No, it actually wasn't burned at all. It tasted overcooked, but not burned. I can't explain it. :(

Be back at 10:30. Watching The Sopranos & Curb Your Enthusiasm. :D

A BooBoo,
I just love the title you gave to this thread, excellent. Chilli don't look none too bad either, sorry about the sleepies.

I catch it on the backside Abooja. This season is kinda boring, its a good thing they didn't show it first. As for as Curb your Enthusiasm, that show cracks me up.:) See you when you get back.:)

Thanks, Walrus! I try. :D

Lappy: If you ever find yourself in NYC (and I'm still living here), I promise you a home cooked meal. ;)

Punchy: I think the Sopranos is pretty good this season. I wasn't a fan from the beginning, though. I hated how everyone in the office and everyone I knew watched it. Gotta be different, you know? But Curb is a funny as hell show. It's gotta be, written and starring the co-creator of Seinfeld. If you haven't already seen this week's episode, you're going to love it. Only Larry David can get a bunch of laughs out of death. :D

Congrats on not burning the building down, Boo. :)

Seinfeld here tonight is ugly-baby-in-the-Hamptons and shrinkage. Hilarious even for the umpteenth time.:ROFLMFAO:

Boo, looks delicious...gave me a wonderful case of heartburn just looking at the picture:D

gordon24fan: The restaurant will have to wait until I put together a business plan, get enough capital, and learn to figure out how not to fall asleep before shutting off the gas. In other words, a long time from now.

Alaska: I missed Seinfeld last night. I got caught up watching the end of the World Series game, and forgot to switch back to Fox.

Kat: Thanks! :)
