Martinsville Cup

48 to take home the checker, Harvick in 2nd, Hamlin in the wall.

I'm going out on a limb here and thinking Ambrose will win it.

150 Points works much better.

That would be awesome, but I don't believe Nascar will do that. I look for Nascar to do no penalty. Anybody else would have had to at least start this race at the back.

No penalty would equal favoritism and we know NASCAR doesn't play that...:sarcasm:

NASCAR saying no penalty for the 48 because no parts were confiscated and the problem was found in pre-race inspection and fixed.

Yep. If that was Harvick or Hamlin, there'd be a 100 point penalty.

Here's a Hendrick pre-race penalty example:

"**During pre-race inspections at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. prior to the 2007 running of the Dodge/Save Mart 350, NASCAR found that the #24 and #48 teams had manipulated the fenders in an area where the claw template did not measure. As a result, the cars were impounded until the fenders were reworked to meet NASCAR standards. Drivers Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were not allowed to qualify. After the race, both drivers and team owner Rick Hendrick were assessed 100-point penalties, the teams were fined $100,000 apiece and crew chiefs Chad Knaus (#48 team) and Steve Letarte (#24 team) were suspended for six races. Until Carl Edwards' received a similar penalty in 2008, the penalties assessed to the two Hendrick Motorsports cars were the most severe in NASCAR history."

Why no penalty now

Because they don't want to take a sure-thing championship away from Jimmie (even though they took a sure-thing championship away from Harvick with their stupid ass welfare points system).

Next year NASCAR should save everyone a lot of time and money by handing Hendrick the Chase trophy at Daytona at the beginning of the season...

Speed and Hornish should be held a lap and told to smarten up.

I wonder if they've ever tested Marty Reid's blood alcohol level before/during a broadcast? ;)
