Hey guys, new member here with a quick question. I am originally from Upstate NY area, I never watched a lick of Nascar until I relocated after college to the Charlotte area about 3 years ago. I have been to 7 races so far and have to say I love the sport!! So far the only 2 tracks I have been to are Lowes and The Rock. A lady I work with had 4 tickets to Martinsville and I bought them off her for the race this weekend, needless to say I can't wait.

I do have one question, why is it so much easier to get tickets for Martinsville as opposed to Bristol? It seems that they are very similar tracks, is it the banking @ Bristol that makes the races so much more attractive?

i'd say the banking and that the media makes a bigger hype about Bristol.. I personally like Martinsville better, have fun this weekend!

M'ville is a hoot. I found it to be just as much fun as Bristol, but in a different way.

BTW, be sure to have a couple of M'ville 'dogs --- they are the best. :)

TRL is right, you gotta have a couple of them dogs. Bristol is marketed at the fasted half mile track. With the high banks, it almost seems like the cars never slow down and they seem to constantly be in the corners. Martinsville is a totally different track in that there are definite straightaways and corners. Martinsville is easier to get to as far as I'm concerned and the parking can put you very close to the track for free. The hills to climb aren't nearly as bad if you choose to park in the lower parts, but with the weather looking to be as it is, better make sure you have a 4x4 to get out of the swamp if it does rain. I've watched many a cars getting to the top, only to slide down and into other cars. OUCH!

For some reason, I think that the races at Bristol are a bit more exciting on TV, but in person, the Martinsville races are just as good. They just hype Bristol more than Martinsville.
