Authorities from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a shooting at a central Topeka Dillons grocery store Sunday night, where multiple officers may have been shot. The call went out after 6 p.m. and officers responded to the Dillons store located at 1400 SW Huntoon St.

No details about the shooting were immediate released from officials, but law enforcement officials could be seen actively working the situation in the store's parking lot.

WTF is going on in our country? A shooting on Southern CA, another mall shooting in Oregon that was stopped by a citizen with a gun, I've lost count of how many cops have been shot and/or killed in the past week....

This is more than a gun issue.

This country needs Jesus. That's about all I can say. People shouldn't have to grow up and live their entire life in fear.

The two police officers who were shot have succumbed to their injuries.

Hopefully the suspects are in bodybags, I mean custody.

I am starting to think these Wackos are looking for something like media attention, just to know there name will be on the news or something.

That is often exactly what it is and those committing these horrific crimes know that to become famous they need to kill either one celebrity or multiple children. How unfortnate it is that the perpetrators names resound long after those of the victims have faded.

This is a horrible story. It is, fortunately, rare for trained police officers to lose in a firefight, particularly without killing or wounding the suspect, but it does happen. No matter how trained or experienced you are, being ambushed or being shot with no warning at all can happen. I will pray for the families of those men who died protecting us and I will also pray for the family of the man who chose to take their lives as well. It's not their fault and they lost a loved one as well.

The only real question I have is what in the hell was the third officer doing? The report said that three officers responded to the suspicious vehicle call. Two were killed and the suspect got away, apparently unharmed. I really hope that he didn't freeze up. I also hope that his inactivity didn't contribute to the deaths of the other two officers. You never really know how you will repond in a life or death situation. All the training in the world simply can not truly replicate the actual situation and what you might do when your life is in danger, or when faced with the prospect of actually taking the life of another human being.

This incident happened 10 minutes from my house ... the suspect was shot and killed at 6:15am this morning.
