May 11, 1984: Who won the Coors 420 at Nashville (Tenn.) Speedway? Teammates Darrell Waltrip or Neil Bonnett? History shows it was Waltrip, but on that Saturday night in Tennessee it was quite the mess. A caution because of a wreck with one lap to go muddles the finish, and initially Bonnett, who leads 320 of the 420 laps, is declared the winner. But two days later, NASCAR declares Waltrip the winner, and drops Bonnett to second.

I remember that race very well and will go to my grave believing that NASCAR gave that race to DW, even though I was a DW fan at that time. Back then, they raced back to the flag and Neil beat ol' DW fair and square, but not in the eyes of NASCAR.
