Mayor wants to discuss changing Redskins nickname

I just had this discussion with my wife the other day while we were watching the Redskin's loss. We noticed how the emblem @ the 50 yrd line was all but gone, worn out, faded, etc. We just wondered why effort wasn't made to promote the team/stadium in a prominent fashion under the eyes of millions of viewers. Maybe this is why? It looks like another long time tradition is about to be lost to the next wave of political correctness.

Washington D.C. mayor Vincent C. Gray suggested Wednesday that he'd like to discuss a possible name change with the Washington Redskins franchise.

This especially could become an issue if the Redskins want to relocate within city limits with a new stadium.

"I think that if they get serious with the team coming back to Washington, there's no doubt there's going to have to be a discussion about that, and of course, the team is going to have to work with us around that issue," Gray said, via The Washington Post.

Same as it is now. If Washington doesn't like the name, eff 'em. I think DC has bigger problems to worry about than the name of a football team. Idiots.
