I saw this as a possible move on Jayski. Th emore I think about it the more I can see this as a good fit. I think Mears would mesh well there with Bobby. I know he would not be a contender but if Kyle got out of the car for good and Bobby and Mears could work together then maybe just maybe Petty Racing might start running top 15's again.

Hopefully their driving styles and preferences are the same so they could share information and collectively become better. Otherwise, it'll be like the current situation of two one car teams.

I don't know, Mears isn't that aggressive, I don't know if its equipment or personnel or what, but there doesn't seem to be any fire there. When an interview is done with Carl E or Tony S or Kyle and kurt, you know there is fire there, even Hamlin whom I don't care for much at least exudes some confidence. But with an interview with Mears, I don't know, I guess I would equate it to shakin hands with a carp, just not much excitement there. Duane

I see this move as nothing happening for both the Pettys and Mears. If Mers can't do anything at Hendrick he won't do any better at Petty

But I doubt he'll do much worse. And if he does then maybe Cup's just not his deal.

Then where's Chad McCumbee fit in? He was the heir apparent for the 45 car at one time.
