i seldom miss a race at the burg (my favorite track) but I really do not like dry-slick-dusty tracks and I hate being sandblasted (which is what woo thrives on and are what I suspected to find there tonite, so rather than come home filthy and angry, I though I'd save up for midget week and stay home. from the reports of the track conditions I'm seeing on Indiana open wheel forum those are the exact track conditions prevalent, which doesn't necessarily mean the racing is not good, as this track tends to provide good racing regardless of track conditions (for non wing sprints at least)/ so we'll need to wait till the dust settles and see if anyone in attendance was able to see the track well enough to provide us with a good description of the racing action/ I do hope the track had a prosperous nite (the more $$$ THEY MAKE THE BETTER THE ODDS ARE THEY'LL KEEP THE GATES OPEN) hope all you readers had some great racing and a happy steve kinser day weekend!

I'm going to make a trip over the summer, probably late July, and try to hit The Burg, along with Gas City and Kokomo.

I'm sure you'll be impressed with all 3, the burg is a big wide 3/.8th's,(very racy under any condition) kokomo is a larger 1/4 mile, always well prepped and racy, gas city, a smaller 1/4 mile, new ownership so track prep has been iffy, he is trying to get a weekly midget show going too, along with the sprints (for which a applaud him)

as far as last nites woo race goes/ heard the track was a dry slick dust bowl (I can't deal wit that) but that it did come in by the feach, providing a very good race

Everyone I know that has gone out there has not wanted to come back. I hardly ever get sprints out here, even less traditional (wingless) sprints, so I am really looking forward to it.

What about Paragon?

I have never been to paragon, but as it is, the burg is shut down next week and there is a kiss race at paragon, so i'll get one more thing off my bucket list (should be a strong field of cars and hopefully a nice racy track?)

just looked paragon up, its a 3/8ths, I think I'm gonna like that track (ITS A 2.2 HR. DRIVE FROM WHERE I'M AT IN CINCI. MOST OF THE INDIANA DIRT TRACKS ARE TINY 1/4 MILES, I THINK MOST ARE too small for sprint car racing, but the old timers here in indy will argue 'not so' till they're blue in the face/ only ones that aren't 1/4 miles are terra haute (a huge 5/8ths) and the burg (a 3/8th's now, it was a 1/4 too until just a few years ago) they say that lincoln park is a 1/3rd or a 3/8th/ but it doesn't look much bigger than a 1/4 to me.

paragon proved to be a 3/8ths paper clip with little banking and sharp turns, it was also (and generally is, from what I hear) a dry slick, so the sprinters couldn't carry much speed into the turns/ it was a half throttle huggy pole battle (no slide jobs, no upper grove)/ not my cup of tea
