LEBANON, Mo. (December 5) - Chris Madden can count another success to a hugely successful 2007 racing season. The Gray Court, South Carolina racing star captured the inaugural Latemodelracer.com Gary Jacob Memorial National Rankings championship in the final weeks over season-long Late Model Rankings leader Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR and World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion Steve Francis of Ashland, KY.

After a grueling 10 month season that compiled 467 Dirt Late Model feature events from coast to coast across the United States, the difference in the National Rankings came down to Madden's fourth place at the Southern All Stars 'Gobbler' at Cleveland Speedway on November 17. That one, final top five finish broke the tie with Moyer atop the Rankings and clinched the crown for the two-time O'Reilly Southern All Stars Series Late Model champion.

Madden led the nation with 15 race wins (of events $3,000 to win or more) including a huge $30,000 victory at the National 100 at East Alabama Motor Speedway and $20,000 World of Outlaws victory at Volunteer (TN) Speedway. He scored $10,000 wins at Baton Rouge (LA) Raceway and Cherokee (SC) Speedway and dominated Ray Cook's Southern Nationals tour in July with six feature wins in 12 events. The South Carolina driver also posted nine strong runner-up finishes including second-place runs behind Scott Bloomquist in the $50,000 to win Colossal 100 at Lowe's Motor Speedway and the inaugural $30,000 to win Firecracker 100 at Lernerville (PA) Speedway. Madden completed the Gary Jacob inspired Rankings with 34 top five finishes to compliment his 15 wins.

The Latemodelracer.com Gary Jacob Memorial National Rankings record all Super Late Model events in the United States and Canada that pays out a minimum of $3,000 to win. Four hundred sixty-seven (467) events meeting these guidelines were hosted during the 2007 season with over 600 drivers qualifying for National Rankings points. Each event ($3,000-20,000) awards the top six finishers points (9-6-4-3-2-1). The 16 major National events that pay $25,000 to win or more offer double points (18-12-8-6-4-2-1).

Moyer controlled the National Rankings for most of the 2007 campaign only to succumb to Madden's late season rally. 'Mr. Smooth' led the nation with 42 top five finishes that included eight victories, capturing $10,000 victories at Columbus (MS) Speedway, Brownstown (IN) Speedway and Tri City (IL)

Speedway. Moyer backed up his wins with 12 runner-up finishes including second place efforts at the Show Me 100 at West Plains (MO) Motor Speedway, the Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals at Knoxville (IA) Speedway and the season-ending Jambalaya 100 at Pike County (MS) Speedway. Moyer also picked up a pair of UMP SummerNationals victories.

Francis, the 2007 World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champion made a late season dash to close within one point of the Rankings lead after a third place finish at the $50,000 to win Dirt Track World Championship at K-C (OH) Raceway on October 20th. The 'Kentucky Colonel' captured a $20,000 win at Volunteer (TN) Speedway to lead his 10-win season. Four of his wins were with the World of Outlaws Series including a $10,000 win at the Autodrome Drummond in Quebec, Canada. Francis also won the Gary Jacob Memorial Northern Rankings region.
