It doesn't matter what team you drive for. It doesn't matter what number car you have. It doesn't matter what sponsor you have. It's all about the driver. You are Dale Earnhardt Jr. I am a Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan. As long as you're that same driver, I'll always be a fan. If you're happy with racing for a different team, I'll be happy, even if it's with Hendrick Motorsports.

Best of luck with HMS next year.

I could recommend some very good therapists. But, it's not free and it could take a few weeks for them to cure you.
Let me know.

There I go being a philanthropist again...

really? how so? only 3 other drivers have won more races than him in the past 5 years.

The only places he can win are on big tracks where they dont have to work. To bad he will win more at hms because NASCAR will start giving races to him as well.

oh ok...i forgot tracks like Richmond are supper speedways.

i also forgot that Jr does have 2 Bush Championships.

Know what the hell you're talking about before u open yur piehole. Not only did he win the "big tracks" but also chicago, richmond, dover, phoenix, texas, atlanta, the all-star race in charlotte and don't forget that weekend sweep at the "big track" bristol.

Easy, steve, no need to take this personally.

Everyone knows that Junior has won at all different distances and tracks.

nascarfan01, how do we know what tomorrow holds --- much less 5 years down the road. No need to get belligerent.

Whose getting belligerent? Just another JR. fan getting mad. I better run for cover, i dont want to get hit with a beer can.

LOL Careful, it might be Pepsi cans now.

Gonna be an interesting finish to the season. Will KB2 stay with HMS till it's over? Will Jr move to HMS before this season's end?

Where will KB2 go?? To the 8 for DEI??? Ginn and JGR are still lookin too.

And don't rule out a Toyota ride either.

Just some fodder to munch on.

What will you be saying when he blows it at hms?

Again you set yourself up to take a lot of crap here not only from the Jr fans but also from people who are very knowledgeable about nascar in general. Back your statements with facts.

Four-Time Nextel Cup Race Winner to Finish Season in No. 5 Chevrolet

CONCORD, N.C., (June 13, 2007) – Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series for Hendrick Motorsports and four-time Nextel Cup race winner, will depart Hendrick Motorsports at the conclusion of the 2007 season.

The following is a statement from Busch regarding the decision to leave:

“We had been working on a contract extension for me to remain at Hendrick Motorsports, but after prolonged negotiations, we mutually agreed that a fresh start was in order. I have been granted a release after the 2007 season.

“I have tremendous respect for Mr. Hendrick and everyone at Hendrick Motorsports. It’s where I grew up, and I have a lot of great memories.

“I kind of feel like I’m graduating. I’m excited about my future, and I know a lot of opportunities await because of what everyone at Hendrick did for me – on the track and off.

“I still have a job to do this year, and will give it my all – just as I’ve always done – to make sure we put the No. 5 car in victory lane a few more times before the year is out.”

Kelloggs, that is a great article.
But...................(and you knew this was coming, LOL)

Remember, "Everything I say today goes.......
unless you hear from me tomorrow."

I thought Jr was dressed nicer today than at his last press conference. He looked right hansom today. LOL

no, Jr is not over-rated. He needs great equipment, and HMS will provide him that.

Isn't the sign of a great driver one who can still perform at the hightest levels even when they are in less than optimum equipment?

I can think of a couple of drivers who fit that description...

I can as well and suspect it's the reason they're Nextel Cup champions.

I am sure y'all realize exactly how hard it is to win the Championship. Everything has to "come together" for it to happen. Lets give Jr a chance, he still has a number of years in his career.

I agree, I definitely think a major change like this was needed. Things at DEI had been at a standstill since the end of 04. I don't think people even realize that Chance2 doesn't even have a win yet this season, thats how bad it is over there. DEI/Chance2 had won the Talladega Aarons 312 the last four years in a row before this year. Now they're struggling to even finish in the top 10. I hate the car of tomorrow but I wanna see Jr win & since he's going to Hendrick I wonder if that also means he's gonna drive either the 5 or 24 Busch car or continue to drive for Chance2.

he'll b either driving one of his cars JR motorsports or one of HMS busch cars cause chance 2 was co owned by him and teresa.

I'm willing to bet he'll be driving an HMS Cup car. I don't see him moving back to Busch...

I was talking about the busch series, but then i realized he thinks DEI is DEI/chance 2 in cup and that is wrong, chance 2 motorsports was only in the busch series and I'm pretty sure chance 2 is pretty much history.

Chance 2 is history. Now the Busch cars Jr drove come out of Jr Motor sports. He could still drive a few races in them since he owns the company or he could drive a HMS car in the busch or he could just concentrate on cup.

I would also like to add to Dale that if you and Rick can't work it out with DEI to get the 8 - please consider the history that the 5 and 25 have for both Hendrick Motorsports and Nascar in general. If you can get the 8, that's great and I understand. But if you can't, please show some respect and drive the 5 or switch with Casey and drive the 25. Don't bring in an entirely new number.
