Miccosukee sponsorship leaving the sport?: Sponsorship from Miccosukee Indian Gaming in all three of NASCAR's national series - Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Trucks - could be terminated as a result of an early February vote by the Indian tribe. The tribe, which runs Miccosukee Resort and Gaming located in Miami and along the southeastern edge of the Florida Everglades, elected a new chairman, Colley Billie, on Jan. 5 who campaigned on promoting a new and "proactive" economic development platform. Several sources confirmed the tribe plans a Feb. 4 vote to decide whether it will continue its sponsorship in NASCAR, which includes Cup [#09-Almirola] and Nationwide teams [#1-James Buescher] to be fielded in 2010 by team owner James Finch and a Truck team [#18] owned and driven by Kyle Busch. The chances the NASCAR sponsorships will continue are considered slim, sources said.(Charlotte Observer)(1-26-2010)

man it kinda sucks, 2009 was no doubt their biggest season as sponsor in NASCAR...

Me thinks that if a deal was struck to keep Keselowski affiliated with Hendrick while driving the 09(which was an option), this talk wouldnt be happening.

Or if Kyle wouldn't act like a arse most of the time(since they were supposed to sponsor 1 of his trucks).

I guess the Indians are having a hard time too, since people don't have the extra money to spend on a weekend gambling spree.

Kyle Busch rarely acts like a douche in the truck series for whatever reason. In fact, Kyle Busch has gotten 9 wins with Miccosukee as his sponsor in the series where he carries himself well.

Speaking of Kyle Busch, anyone surprised NOS hasnt been the primary in a few of the Cup races for him yet?

Busch 2011 - No sponsor, no truck!

Looks like he may be shutting down the shop if nothing happens soon.....

Kyle Busch said Wednesday he would shut down his Camping World Truck Series team after this season if he cannot find a sponsor.

At the start of the year, Busch thought he had Miccosukee Resort & Gaming as a sponsor for one truck for the entire season, and had hoped to find sponsors for two more trucks. But a change in leadership at the Indian tribe resulted in the loss of that sponsorship and no other full-time sponsors materialized.

I still think that NASCAR at all levels (including Cup) is in a major sponsor crisis. While it gets a little coverage, I'm still surprised that more people are not noticing. 4 time champ Jeff Gordon can't get a full time sponsor, there are few new sponsors coming in, when they do come in it's for a 4 race deal, and every week another sponsor announces they are leaving.

Ladies & Gents we have a winner!!!

My daughter is a asst manager at Foxwoods in their pharmarcy. She got the word there will be MAJOR cutbacks coming next month. Mohegan Sun is experiencing the same problems.
Both are in CT.

i hope kyle can find a full time sponsor and stay in bisiness. nascar needs the new blood in owners like him, harvick, stewart, dale jr etc... to keep the sport competitive with other sports. the old guard isn't getting any younger.

People need to pay their mortages and car payments, there isn't the extra money any more to go gambling. Can't remember the last time we went to Foxwoods , probably 3 years or so.

Responsible people need to pay their mortgages and car payments. There are quite a few people out there that don't fit the bill. The local Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh seems to be going pretty strong. Maybe there still are quite a few out there that have money?

Hmmmmm Busch may have to shut down his truck team but Harvick,Stewart, and Jr not having sponsor problems.Guess not acting like an ASS and trying to piss people off 24/7 has it's possibilities.I guess he will get to do his bow at the end of the year.Just to bad for him it will be bowing out as a team owner.

Stewart has sponsor problems. (edit: so does Newman)

Still singing that tune?

2nd post in the same thread you stated Kyle as acting like an ass. Jeez, Did he nail your sister or something? Let it go man, take the needle off the record.

They all have sponsor woes, pretty much across the board.

Yup... And I do not see the economy turning around any time soon. Any race fan that would wish someone to lose their sponsor is not a race fan in my eyes.

But they are also having sponsor problems. So I guess not acting like an ass also doesn't help.:) Maybe it really has nothing to do with how one acts.
