Michigan fires Rodriguez

leave stanford yes. toss up between michigan and the nfl. i'm leaning towards the nfl.

Harbaugh is going to the NFL. He can make a lot more money in the NFL and Michigan is not in a very good place right now. They are not getting back a lot of good players and the players they do have are Rich Rod's type of players that are really too small to compete in the Big 10.

I don't know who Michigan ends up with, I just hope they are better than Rich Rodriquez because it isn't nearly as much fun beating up on Michigan when they suck. You can't ruin their season by beating them if they've already ruined their own season. I also hope the new guy isn't too good though, of course. ;)

Remember, when Stanford hired Harbaugh, they went 1-11 the year before. That shows that he can build a program and because Michigan has a proud heritage, it would be easier to build there than at Stanford. Seems the most "experts" believe Jim will go with the NFL

i agree but going to michigan isn't bad moneywise. they're one of the few schools that can offer millions, has a great football tradition with first class fans and stadium. counting tv and radio shows income, along with other perks, i'd bet he would make more than some nfl coaches. you never know what's most important to people. andrew luck went back to stanford where i thought he would turn pro.

Reports have him being $7 miilion a year to coach in the NFL and him askign for $8 million a year. He is in a great place to ask for whatever he wants. He is everyone's pick as the best coach available anywhere. This is the time to get whatever he wants because he will never be this valued again. He would certainly boost the morale of everyone involved with the Michigan football team. He is a Michigan guy and he is the hottest coach on the planet. I also think he could tun around the football team. He can make good money at Michigan, but he can't make $8 million a year or so like he will in the NFL.

If he went to Michigan and failed to deliver he would be out of luck for an NFL job, but even if he flopped in the NFL Michigan would still be there with open arms as soon as they had an opening for him. He's gotta be smart about this.

Reports now have Harbaugh becoming the new coach at the 49ers. Good luck Jimmy.
not a bad choice. weak conference so he could make the playoffs his first year as head coach. doesn't have to move his family away from the area. oh yeah, $5M a year for 5 years. i hope he does well. :)

LSU coach Les Miles expects to meet with Michigan about the Wolverines' head coaching job.

I was just a little surprised to hear that he was seriously considering going to Michigan. He turned them down a few years ago to stay at LSU. Things do change though. He seems like a really good choice for them if they go that route. He's a horrible clock manager at the end of games, but he is a really good coach for the most part.

I'm kind of glad it won't be Miles. People in LSU country act like he wins all of those games by accident, but the guy can coach. The guy they did end up with scares me a lot less than Miles did.

brady hoke wasn't even on my radar for the job but hope he does well. it's certainly an upgrade from rodriguez. i'll be interested to see the terms of his contract.
