Think I'll be a real loser and make this a weekly thing.

Next week's Bristol menu:

Shrimp Boil
Chiles Rellenos
Jalapeno Cheese Rolls

?

Well, maybe not all that.

I'll probably have to fast much of the week... :uhmnotsur

Do you deliver??? I'll take mine trackside! (with a bottle of Pepto for desert...) :kaioken:

Sorry, eat-in only. So get on over here around 6 'oclock next Saturday night. I'll throw in some taters and corn.

No one said race food was health food. :D

Since the race is at Bristol next week, how about a good, home-cooked, country breakfast? Biscuits, gravey, ham, eggs, sliced cantaloupe, and a big glass of milk to wash it down?

Hmm, that sounds good too. Although, I can do without the gravy. :uhmnotsur

I couldn't figure out what would be most appropriate, so I went with an old standby.

How about chili? Too hot for chili?

Or red beans & rice and corn bread.

Or macaroni & cheese and grilled andouille.

Gotta be something along those lines. Something special. And fattening. :growl:

Check with TN Ward, he will, I'm sure, give you a GREAT menue :) :D

Biskits, gravey, eggies, sausage, bacon, steak, taters (smothered and scattered).........WAFFLE HOUSE! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM and they don't deliver either.

Your first menu for next Sat eve looks good to me.......maybe half the shrimp and make up the difference with crawdad. And throw in some good old deep fried okra, stuffed mushrooms, and a big batch of deep fried dill pickles!! Can't ask for much else.......well some big ole thick slices of vidella onions would go great as a side!!:D

You say around 6 next Sat eve........that's Eastern Standard Time right? Cutiepie and I will be there!!:)

Throw in a BIG glass of Sweet Tea and I'm there.:) You need to move down here with that Cajun menu:D

Thanks, everyone, for some great suggestions! I'm probably going with the original menu, but if I can find some live crawfish in my area (which is very unlikely), I'll throw some of them in too.

Can't deal with fried pickles, though, DE. Okra's good, and I can handle a stuffed mushroom or two (not my favorite thing in the world), but no fried pickles! Never did understand that. I guess I conceivably could throw a breaded carburator into my Fry Daddy (well, maybe a Grand Pappy), and it wouldn't taste half bad. :satisfied

Waffle House sounds real good right about now...I love the idea of a big breakfast, but then I couldn't eat anything else all day. Almost certainly going to have Nutrament shakes all week for lunch. Blech... :bleh:

Okay, everyone over at 6:00 p.m. EST this Saturday. If you don't like Zimas or Genesee Cream Ale, BYOB. Bring your seat cushions while you're at it. I don't have a couch...unless we all pile onto my queen sized bed. That might be interesting too... :p

How bout a mess of freshly caught Lake Michigan Yellow Perch and a couple of Walleye. There's some good eatin'

Hmm, that would have been good for yesterday's race, be. Bristol's gotta have a southern theme to it.

Come to think of it, I'd prefer it if most things had a southern theme to it... :)

Abooja,

Are you sure that you weren't born down here in the south and somehow mistakenly shipped up north? Cause your tastes are too good.:p

Jalapeno Cheese Rolls ......yummy.......:hyper:

Nah, B.C., but thanks for the compliment!

Guess the ex from Baton Rouge was more of an influence than I would have imagined. It also doesn't hurt to have tons of cookbooks -- and internet access. I found the jalapeno cheese roll recipe in my Paul Prudhomme cookbook while looking for the hushpuppy recipe. I'll probably make way too many, then force the leftovers on my colleagues on Monday morning. Should be some sick folks around here this time next week. Physically, that is. They're all mentally sick already. :p

Now, 66...I love Taco Bell as much as the next gal, but for Bristol? I would say that something a bit more...special is warranted, no? I can have Taco Bell any day of the week (not that I do). The Bristol night race is only once a year.

You didn't think I ate like such a horse every day, did ya? ;)
