Couldn't wait for someone else to start the race thread. Word on the radio is that there may be weather that could affect the start. Any word from those of you in the know?

I'm on a RV beach vacation. No water or electric hookups. Got the generator and satellite dish set up and I'm ready to go.

Well that sucks!

*That's my submission for the nomination to be elected minister of stating the obvious ;)

It looks like a strong possibility of a delay but it should be over by sunset.

I'm a little north and west of Jackson on the Lakeshore, partly cloudy and sunny as we speak. Nothing to the west on the radar.

From Lansing channel 6 weather right now.

My radar is a bit different from the one above.. From looking at my radar I'm predicting at least a three hour delay for the start.

NASSCAR needs to stage a race in Colorado. They need the rain bad and it seems like Rain and CUP Racing are a commonality this year.

With a freshly washed track, I think nascar and Goodyear made the right decision.

The only down side is that those left sides won't put down rubber, and they could make the track very slippery if the rubber lays on top like the hard tires usually do.

Heard several drivers comment on the new left side tires. Seems "on the edge" are the words of the day. Add in the concerns over motors going the distance because of the extree [larry mac word] practice miles and we could have a crash/blow'd up fest.:(

so what you are saying is we are in for a horrible horrible race?

Maybe. It could turn the field inside out. I think the setup will be a matter of luck. Teams planned their front ends weeks ago when nascar announced which tire would be tested and used in the race. Teams that get real fine with their front ends could run out of adjustments.

Vegemite's not THAT bad!!! Hell, I'd eat vegimite before I would eat bugs!!

My Prediction...A major wreck within the first 5 laps. Resulting in a driver or 2 being injured. You guys been around this sport long enough to know....Freshly paved track...Heavy rain...Unknown left rear tire... Sounds like a DISASTER waitin to happen. I HOPE im wrong....BUT.......

Smart move by the #48 & 39...Change the engine and head to the rear to ride it out for a while....

I certainly hope you're wrong but think there's a chance you may not be.
