Winchester, Virginia - Midget racing 1, rain 0. With the ARDC midgets coming to town, Winchester Speedway's track crew had their work cut out for them. Heavy downpours in the early afternoon, and nearly the entire region calling for more rain, workers had to put it in high gear to get a full race in. Surrounded by rain, the track was worked in to perfection, heavy and fast for the visiting midget cars, along with the local late models, limited late models, pure stock and u-cars. The good crowd that braved the forecast and came to the track were thrilled with a well run show that ended on time, and was filled with fantastic racing in all 5 classes.

Just go to the Virginia Photos page on luvracin.com to see the action. Page 7-8 in particular, which has a pretty wild flip sequence.

Great pics, VaDirt!! That midget was sure walkin' the tightrope!
Not sure if he was gonna leave the ballpark or not after each successive picture. He's outta here, no he's totally in, wait, he's out again, no....he's.. out? ..... in? ... whew, landed on all fours - on the inside. Glad to see him walk away. Insane.

Wow, those are great Virginia Dirt, and the flip sequence on page 8 is incredible. Glad to see the driver was able to walk away. I always enjoy viewing your work.

But technically speaking, I have to say I never saw one midget driver in those pictures. I am sure they could have some driving advantages just as being born without a neck is an advantage to Ryan Newman. Probably being short helps a driver not to get flung around too much, thus preventing whiplash.

But that’s alright the photos are still great.

That photo on #6 with the orange sky was awesome.
Really liked the shots of the midget race cars. For some reason, I can't get into the late models but if that was all there was to watch it would have to do. ;)

Actually, there is one midget driver I know of. Rico Abreu is out of California, but I' not sure if he's currently running anywhere. Ran fairly well at the Chili Bowl which his first time (I think) in a midget.

uhuh so he is both an amazing midget driver and a champion road racer.
