Mika Salo takes the wheel

It was confirmed today that F1 star Mika Salo, will take the wheel of a champ car at PK racing and send Max Papis packing. After a disappointed few GPs for Papis he will be replaced by newcomer Salo, who enjoyed his last ride in F1 last year with Toyota and won them thier maiden points in the teams first race ever. Salo looks forward to strongs runs and strong relations with Pk, and was quite happy as well as the team after a test last week at Mid ohio.

My man Mika, had a horrible race, after being involved in two seperate accidents. One claiming to be his fault, on cold tyres, taking the front wing off of the car. The next was a brave overtaking by Tiago punting Salo into a spin followed by some good ol wall kissin. Thus ending his day. Dissapointing and worth pointing out that I do not believe Papis crashed in a race, but some major learning to be done by ex toyota F1 star Mika Salo.

I dont think he did too badly considering it was his Champ Car debut. And he had like 0 test time in the car before the weekend. I think that once hes gotton used to the Lola machine he will do a good solid job, and who knows may even get a few wins. Not this year, but maybe next year. Okay hes probably a little past his best now, but hes still a damn good driver. Hed probably have finished 3rd overall at Le Mans this year in the Audi Sport UK car, but the car ran out of fuel. Not with Mika at the wheel though.

Mika is driving now in CART, purley for fun he has said. Oh and his pension. Still hes a good driver and a big name, just what this series needs at the moment. I know we have Junqeria, Bourdais, Tracy, Servia etc but its nice to have a ex GP star joining the ranks too.
