Strap in a nitro funny car, make a quarter mile pass and then get back to me.

You keep saying that Andy, and you keep claiming how great drag racing is, and nobody here cares....it's called a Nascar board.

Yea, right !! Three seconds of watching a souped up car go a quarter mile.
HOT SPIT !! WHATTA THRILL !!!!!

But then, we all have different ideas of what sport is.

Then there are those who dislike the newer rules of NASCAR but find excitement pretty much the entire race, which generally run substantially longer than three seconds and involves teamwork and strategy the entire race.

So giving drag racing its due, it is a three second thrill, has one driver and no other participants once the light turns green for go, and ends with a parachute. (yawn) Sorta like a quickee, over in three seconds.

It is probably more exciting to take a drive to Ruston, LA, sit on a park bench and watch the grass grow than a three second timed event. Not to mention a lot quieter.

Obviously spoken by someone who's never been to a sportsman, outlaw, or nostalgia drag racing event.

MIR has A LOT more butts in seats than the local dirt track. People come from Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Tennessee on any given week.

Hey... I've sent you an invitation to come out and experience some drag racing out at MIR.

Bet you wouldn't be talking trash about it if you watched a race or two up here.

And, just in case you didn't catch the original post, it's about a NASCAR driver going to drag racing. And I didn't start this thread.

So there. :hmpf:

:p

I'm sure the cars are impressive, but I can think of something better to do than watch two cars go down the track in three seconds.....then waiting....then watching two more cars go down the track in 3 seconds, then waiting.....
