Michael Waltrip and Napa moving to Bill Davis Racing in '06.
Good luck in '06 Mikey.
Good thing he got out of DEI before it falls apart.
 
Good. Without the DEI moniker I can move Mikey from the list of driver's I'd like to see in the wall to the list of ehh, they still racing. I just don't think he'd ever be one I'd pull for long term. I just hope he remembers his treatment at the hands of DEI and acts accordingly... :growl:
 
Smells like a Toyota money deal, didn't BDR get sued by Dodge for sharing info with Toyota?

But, he has a winning smile, a good line of B.S. and managed to convince NAPA that they should come along to a team with nearly as dismal a record as his own.

But don't you honestly believe Michael needs more than NAPA, BDR and Toyota to be a great driver?
 
And, the other question being left out of this equation is can Truex provide the drafting help that Lil'E needs (and then be hung out to dry as Lil'E does to nearly everyone that helps him at the RP tracks) as good as Mikey did? Or, will Lil'E have to look elsewhere (think Tony)?
 
Bill Davis Racing is the pinacle of mediocracy so I guess Mikey will fit right in.
 
Bill Davis Racing has went down hill since they went from Pontiac to a dodge. Ward was in the top 10 in points, but after that nothing has came out of that team
 
well i think that it could be a bad thing... not for BDR or DEI... but for mikey... now he has to change all hes cars from chevy to dodge... and hes late models... i guess thats why mikey offered to give one of hes MWR cars to robby
 
I wonder why it's just a one year deal. Did that come from Napa, or Mikey or a possibilty of Toyota coming in in 2007. or did bill davis simply say if you don't get a win I will end it after one year.
 
No matter where Mike Waltrip goes, no matter who Mike Waltrip drives for and no matter what brand of car he drives, Mike Waltrip will be just what Robby Gordon called him.
If there was ever a list of over rated drivers in NASCAR, the list would begin and end with the name Mike Waltrip.

That ain't driver bashing. Thatsa fact !!!!!!!

Now Im a Mikey fan but he has been acting, especially on Trackside this evening like he is a hot commodity in the racing world. He acts like he has over 30 wins under his belt and acts like DEI owes it to him to give him the rights to #15. Give me a break Mikey, its amazing you lasted as long as you did there. Plus he said that he was really perfoming this year, well if thats your high perfomance (22nd in points) then I dont wan't to see you on an off year. Good ridance.

No problem buying NAPA parts. The interesting thing was in this mornings paper, NAPA stated the reson they went with Mike Waltrip was because of his personality and selling thier product. We'll see how Mike makes out standing alone and not having DEI or Dale in the background.

The only mention of racing success came at the ahnd of combining the races won by all BDR drivers and Mike Waltrip. Neither can stand on thier own merit.
