Missed a couple of things, one sadness

trying to maintain a too hectic schedule for the past several days I have missed a couple of postings.

September 26

1909- Was born one William Henry Getty France. Without this man we might or might not have stock car racing such as we have had for over 50 years, but NASCAR exists through the untiring efforts of this one man.

1925 - Born Marty Robbins. More successful as a country singer, Marty was one of the more colorful and enjoyable personalities ever to run with the NASCAR big boys.

1968 - Born Rob Moroso, a promising young driver entering the 90's.

September 30, 1990 - Died this same Rob Moroso, foolishly and tragically. Following the 1990 Tyson Holly Farms 400 at North Wilkesboro (where he finished 21st), he chose to get behind the wheel of his car after drinking. He lost control of his vehicle at a high rate of speed on a sharp turn and crashed into another car. Both he and the passenger of the other car (a young lady) were killed. Moroso’s career best finish in Winston Cup was 9th in the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway. In 1990, he won the Rookie of the Year posthumously over Jack Pennington. Rob ran 25 of the 29 races that year and was credited with 30th in the final point standings. He won the Busch Grand National championship in 1989 and was voted Busch’s most popular driver that year.

Don't worry HS, you can't do it ALL but are sure coming darn close!
