Does anyone follow MMA ("mixed martial arts")? I do not follow this sport or know really anything about it, but I have heard so much the last few days about the big match tonight on CBS. Anyone have any comments or info to share?

Gina Carano is very hot. :growl:

I love me some EliteXC on Showtime. :owned:

This is exciting stuff. It is straight up. Anything goes. This is the nastiest, most brutal, most aggressive sport in America right now. Nothing is more hardcore - and those fighters are brave, think-skinned warriors. They're not afraid of anything. MMA is VERY exciting stuff.

I watch religiously. I even watch many of the UFC PPVs, albeit not paying the $50 but afterwards. Last nights Elite XC was just a bit disappointing. The Carano fight was good and the Lawler/Smith fight was turning into an excellent fight. The others were only so-so.
The UFC is the top organization at this time. Spike has Unleashed on Wednesday and Saturday nights where they show some of the better fights from past cards. This past Friday night they had Fight Night which was good.
If you are a n00b then I'd suggest watching The Ultimate Fighter, Spike on Wed. @ 10pm. This is a show for new up and comers and they really explain a lot. This season is winding up and we are into the quarter finals. But there will be a Fight Night where the top 2 will meet. This is not on PPV.
EliteXC comes on Showtime about every other month. Versus shows the WEC and the replays are quite often. The WEC is owned by the UFC and is their lower level. There used to be Bodog, but maybe they folded. There is also several gimmick organizations but I seldom watch any of them.
When the UFC bought Pride (a Japanese org.) last year it really changed the landscape. Many fighters would not or could not sign with the UFC. This benefitted Elite and many of the smaller clubs.
As you can see I could go on and on but I'll stop... :)
