“It’s great to have the Busch brothers join the Monster team and be wearing the Claw – they have the right attitude for Monster, and they’re proven winners, which is what Monster is all about,”

MOEJOE - What attitude is that? Be an a hole to a cop (Kurt), Drive 128 in a 45 (Kyle), Get fired from two teams because of his A-HOLE attitude (Kurt), Get banned from the final Nationwide, and Sprint Cup race of the year (Kyle), or use the F-BOMB at all available times deemed appropriate by said BUSCH?

Take your pick. Any of them are a good reason for me not to drink MONSTER.

The taste alone is a good reason for me not to drink Monster. Not to mention it's $2.50 a can when I can get a 4 pack of Rockstar or AMP for $5 or a can of Full Throttle for $1.25 + no tax or RIP IT for 99 cents. AMP, Full Throttle, Rip It and Rockstar taste so much better anyways. NOS is even nastier than Monster.

Every now and then, Safeway has 10-packs of Monster on sale for $11. I'll snag it up then.

Another Exerpt From the Official Monster Website:

“Monster Energy has always stood for competing and winning no matter what the sport,” stated Monster Energy Company President, Mark Hall. “To make this happen, we’ve always sought out the most determined, fearless and committed athletes for the Monster team. With the Busch brothers sharing the wheel of Kyle Busch Motorsports Energy Camry, we have reason to believe we have drivers capable of running up front every weekend.”

MOEJOE:

Really? If you want to win and run upfront, why would be pick the two guys that seemingly fold under pressure year after year?

BAM. And you're not supporting the two most egomaniacal destructive people in the sport. How about that. +1 for ANDY. :)

6 pack of beer is only 6-7 bucks plus it won't rot yer teeth like sugary drinks. I'm just sayin'.

And I don't believe in boycotting sponsors solely because of the driver they sponsor. I've joked about not eating M&M's before, but I don't eat them anyways. The only time I've boycotted a national company was when I boycotted BP. I've only been to BP for gas one time and that's because they were the only gas station around when my tank was on E in the middle of nowhere.

Ever heard of Monster Absolutely Zero, Sugar Free/Carb Free Rockstar, Sugar Free Rip It, Diet Amp? Not that I have tried almost every energy drink on the local market or anything.

I remember two other drivers who were even more egomaniacal and destructive than Kurt and Kyle. Both of them are in the Hall of Fame.

It was after Texas. That's what matters.

Try this on.

In an exclusive interview on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio’s SiriusXM Speedway with Dave Moody, Carmichael said he initially was assured the Monster Energy sponsorship would remain with him in 2012, and that the 20 NASCAR Nationwide Series races announced yesterday for Kurt Busch would be his.

“I had a handshake with the CEO of Monster Energy,” revealed Carmichael. “But the weekend of Texas (Motor Speedway), it went away. We were good to go, but when Kyle had his issue (at Texas), it all went sideways.” Carmichael said he believes his shot at retaining the Monster Energy sponsorship disappeared for good when Kurt Busch parted company with Penske Racing after the conclusion of the 2011 campaign.

“Kyle sent (Monster) a letter asking if they were interested (in joining KBM),” he said. “When they got that letter, it put a bug in their ear.” He said he was initially supposed to be a part of those plans, but eventually learned he was just one of many drivers under consideration. “I think Kyle talked to eight different drivers, counting me,” he said. “Unfortunately, I didn’t know that. I let Turner Motorsports know we probably wouldn’t be coming back (in 2012), but once Texas happened, things changed. I think I stayed in the mix (with KBM) only because of Monster. I don’t think I ever had Kyle’s approval. He was looking at seven or eight other guys. It’s not like he was texting me every day saying, `I really want you to race for me.'”

Gradually, Carmichael said he realized KBM was not the right place for him.

Who's that?

Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip.

If Kyle drove a black car, had a mustache and wore goofy looking goggles, most of the fans would worship him. There, I said it.

(And I didn't like Earnhardt, still don't as good as he was)

Gawd, I don't like Kyle Busch any more than anyone else on here but the endless, constant Kyle Busch bashing gets old. How about giving Kyle a second chance before hanging him on a cross? Same goes with Kurt.

Kyle wronged Hornaday, bigtime. And he sat out a race for it -- which is more than NASCAR ever thought of doing to Carl for his two counts of attempted murder against Keselowski. They did the same thing to Harvick and, while Harvick still has moments of douchebaggery, it did wonders for him.

I say again. Good for Monster Energy .A bigtime marketing win. Thank you for stepping up your Nascar investment. I hope other sponsors follow your lead .
A postive step forward . :beerbang:

Looks like Monster energy picked a couple of monsters to drive for them. Maybe they'll start wrecking each other again.

I knew I'd heard that somewhere and was wondering what had happened with Carmichael, Thanks for the info!

Now they are going to let their racing do the talking and with the combined talent of the two drivers, it should speak volumes.

Maybe I'm a bit slow after being on vacation all week :p but with Finch's car being a Chevy and KBM running Toyo's, how's Kurt going to manage that?

Good for Monster. As for the rest, I thought Kurt announced half way through a season that he was leaving Roush, not that he was fired. Thought he was parked the last few races for the cop incident ( but really for leaving Roush, IMO). Also probably not the 1st driver to act that way with a cop. Kyle's speeding, probably not the 1st driver to do that. Kyle getting banned from a race, also not the 1st driver that has happened to. Using the F word, even Kyle Petty has done that.

Well Kleenex shouldn't have to sponsor anyone, a box by the pc is probably as standard as a keyboard is around here.

Monster is a good sponsor, the motocross series alone makes them worthy.

Monster Energy, the same sponsors of Ricky Roadblock,er,um, I mean Carmichael. You know, the guy who destroyed more trucks last year than Steve Wallace. And now this a**hole is supposed to be a Contender?Bullsballs.Just what the sport needs, a cafeine sponsor for a 1 time Champion who has the charisma of a 2x4.

If Kurt could just win one cup race, it would be neat to see the good folks on this forum quietly adding him to their favorite driver list.:D

Don't hold you're breath. KuBu burned his own bridges and that's no ones fault but his own.

People can defend him all they want but when ANYONE acts like that in public, they need to expect some backlash and while I can't speak for anyone else, I wouldn't be expecting that to change anytime soon.

In the immortal words words of Kurt Busch, " do you know who I am?"

I think the nutjob just wanted a half round of wedge ;)

Hey, I know...lets all go into work Monday and start screaming obscenities at people then report back here on who still has a job LOL
