Montoya's First (NASCAR) Busch Race At Memphis
Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced today Juan Pablo Montoya will make his NASCAR debut on October 28 in the NASCAR Busch Series race at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park. Montoya will pilot the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge in his third stock car race since joining the organization. Montoya competed in his first stock car event in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at Talladega Superspeedway on October 6, where he grabbed the outside pole on his way to finishing third. He ran in the ARCA Series finale at Iowa Speedway on Sunday where he started third and finished 24th. He led 12 laps before making contact with another competitor that sent him behind the wall for repairs. Montoya tested a NEXTEL Cup car at the Memphis track last week, and is currently participating in his first official NASCAR sanctioned test at Homestead-Miami Speedway. ...Daily Headlines

I, for at least one, think it should go well. He openly admits that he has lots to learn, is respctful, and a dang nice person besides having great driving skills.

I don't see JPM having any problem fitting in at all. He's easy going and doesn't show any of the pretensions that some newcomers come in with. And, as kat said, that man can drive <g>

Drive on the edge JPM! I think he'll be great for the sport!

He may act like a nice and easy going guy now. Playing the PR game. Just wait till he gets established and has some success.

I don't think he'll do that great in NASCAR at first. It'll probably take him a while like it did Mears.
