Just saw this on Jaski.

Jason Burdett has left Michael Waltrip Racing, where he served as crew chief for driver #44-Dale Jarrett, to become the car chief for Hendrick Motorsports' #24-Jeff Gordon, a Hendrick spokesman confirmed Wednesday. Burdett worked on the Gordon and Jimmie Johnson teams at Hendrick from 2000-2002 before joining Robert Yates Racing as the car chief for Jarrett. He joined MWR in May 2007 to replace Matt Borland as Jarrett's crew chief for the first-year Nextel Cup team. Burdett replaces Jeff Meendering, who has taken over as crew chief for Petty Enterprises' #43-Bobby Labonte. A replacement for Burdett at MWR has not been named.(SceneDaily.com)(11-28-2007)

I'm glad to see that the Petty orginization is trying to get something going, with the move and some restructoring, maybe next will be some results. Duane

Bobby had some splashes this year and he stated himself that the rebuilding was underway, but it take some time. I hope the time is near, I'd love to see the Petty 43 on the front row again!! Duane

Yeah but what you have to understand is that MWR is down sizing. Just this week they laid off 2 of their engineers. Whether they are trying to get leaner so they can be run under a better business model after whats-his-name invested or if they will field fewer cars next year, I don't know. But, maybe Burdett got a hint and decided it was time to move on. And, actually his leaving was known within the organization the day after Homestead.

Kelloggs he now has HMS people on his team...You better run...
