"ESPN.com's David Newton is reporting Rick Russell, owner of 2nd Chance Motorsports, has filed larceny charges against Jennifer Jo Cobb and crew chief Steve Kuykendall. Russell claims Cobb and Kuykendall stole $16,000 worth of race parts during their time with the team in February and March 2011.
"Both her and her crew chief said they didn't know how it got there," Russell said of the portion of the missing parts police found in a storage bin near the shop that had been used by Cobb. "I'm in the race parts selling business. There were containers of parts that came right off the shelves with the prices still marked on them."
Meanwhile, Cobb denied any wrongdoing, saying Russell gave Cobb and Kuykendall permission to move the parts to the storage unit.
"His name is on the storage unit. How can he accuse us of stealing something when it was just transferred from their shop to their storage unit?" Cobb said. "It was just a matter of freeing up space."
Cobb walked away from her Nationwide Series ride with 2nd Chance Motorsports Saturday just moments before the field took the green flag, protesting being told to start-and-park. She has said she has no plans to file suit against Russell."
I'm thinking this guy is a real a-hole.
