Let's be realistic here.
If Kenny Wallce had the talent needed to win in the NEXTEL Cup series, he would have a full time ride with a top team.
Kenny Wallace does have talentand a gregarious personality.
Wallace, like Kenny Schrader, is definitely NOT the driver of choice for a NEXTEL Cup team wanting to sit in the winners circle each week. Both Wallace and Schrader are nice guys but there are better drivers on the sidelines waiting to prove themselves and who might very well be better choices.
It was good to see Schrader voted into the NEXTEL Open at Charlotte, but Kenny's chance of winning were zero when the votes were cast. It was a show of respect for Schrader.
The truth is, drivers should know when to quit the NEXTEL Series. Two drivers who stayed too long are Darrell Waltrip and Richard Petty.
Not being disrespectful, but Kenny Wallace has had a few good rides and never consistently proved himself in any of them. He is a Michael Waltrip clone (or vice versa) in the personality department and will give Aaron's their money's worth in product promotion and frivolity.
He will never win a NEXTEL Cup race no matter who he drives for and his so-called "luck" in the Busch series with all the right components, should tell observers all they need to know.
