DALLAS - A lawsuit is being drafted for several Super Bowl ticket holders who said they got duped by the Dallas Cowboys.
But these aren’t the fans that didn’t get a seat during the game because of the whole temporary seating fiasco. These are members of a group that calls itself the Founders of Cowboys Stadium. They are season ticket holders who have personal seat licenses.
The NFL allocates Super Bowl tickets. So besides those offered to the two teams in the game, the host team, in this case the Cowboys, gets a small percentage of tickets to offer to some season ticket holders at face value.
The $1,200 tickets were not for their usual seats and they knew that. But they said the lesser seats did not live up to the billing.
The ticket holders said they were offered seats with some of the best sightlines in the stadium. Instead they were put in obstructed view seats in temporary bleachers. And, almost all of the seats lacked a view of the Cowboys video board, they said.
They tossed around words like fraud and deception.
A California law firm is expected to file a suit on behalf of the Founders on Wednesday.
The Cowboys organization said it had no comment.
