I get a kick out of the Morgan. They also make some conventional (expensive) sports cars. I caught a How It's Made program and they use a high tech wooden frame on some of their models.

my #1 question: If they are shipping that, why is it not in a closed, triple padlocked, duct-tape wrapped, tack-welded-shut shipping container full of plastic peanuts and bubble wrap?

Because it was shipped on a plane. It and the board was locked in place with everything else.
Unless the plane goes into a downward spiral all is good.

are plane shipments not done with enclosed cargo containers? I thought all shipping was, for stackability.

Some are in solid units but most are on boards which are netted.
No stacking on our planes

Loading some different horsepower at work tonight.
We get a lot of different animals come through.

I read that three-wheeled cycle cars (like the Morgan in your original post) were quite common and popular in Europe. Fuel mileage, narrow streets, etc.

Back in the 1970s I had a neighbor who was slowly restoring a Morgan. I think it was a 1950s model, but not sure (Morgan didn't change their overall body style for a long time). It looked very much like Zerkfitting's picture, although not nearly as nice. He told me that he was visiting his brother (who lived in another State) and while walking through some woods they found another Morgan abandoned. Had been there long enough to have a tree with a five inch diameter trunk growing through it. It was too far away from a road, and too deteriorated, to get the car back out of the woods so they parted it for a few things he thought he could use.

Interesting how they bubble-wrapped that McLaren. But does it really work to protect it much?
