Is breaking a record and running a cup race...at the age of 72 O.O. He will he driving the Hendrick 48, replacing JJ for Loudon only. This is to give other drivers a chance in top notch Hendrick equipment, since JJ already has a massive point lead and is a chase lock.

I would have thought Hylton would have held the record for oldest driver to start, guess they don't count quail. races at Daytona. Glad to see Sheppard still able to climb in the car at 71. They should put a turn signal on the car.

Go, Morgan. I love seeing him roller skate --- he's good on 8 wheels.

Hey, I resemble that remark. ROTFL
Not really, I HATE it when I get behind bozos with the turn signal on. And they are not ALL old people, either.

I once followed an elderly couple for one hour down I 95 with turn signal on. My kids laughed the entire time.
It wasn't near as funny when it happened to me. ( I swear less than 5 min.) LOL:D

That's my point. why not give that ride to someone up a coming not a has been.
Up-and-comers should stay a mile away from that ride. Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott don't want their first impression on the Sprint Cup field to be a 43rd place finish S&P DNF after 30 laps.

I glazed over the Brian part of the name, yes run away.
I did, too, at first. My first thought was actually the bigger news that Brad was going to run a Cup race with his truck team. Which of course, he isn't, lol.

Old timers like Shepherd started driving before cars even had turn signals.

He'll do just fine sticking his left arm out the window to signal his turns . . .

Cole Whitt did that with Turn One and Circle Sport last year plus 2011...

Some people have the misconception that Mark Martin is the 2nd oldest driver to win a Cup race behind Harry Gant, but it's actually Morgan Shepherd, who was 51 when he won his last one at Atlanta in '93.

As for Shepherd winning this weekend, I don't think we have anything to worry about...

They had video of Morgan crashing/face plant on the roller blades on pit lane tonight on race hub. to me it is scary to have a 71 year old behind the wheel on the race track.

He shouldn't be rollerblading in the paddock area. IndyCar not used to let you into the paddock with sandals on, this old goof is rollerblading around. He's going to roll over some oil one day and bust his ass.

So nice to see our young Nascar fans getting a kick out of our veteran drivers.
