Morgan Shepherd update

That's too bad. We used to both frequent at the same small diner in Hickory many years ago. He always seemed like a good guy.

I got to help him at Nashville Fairgrounds speedway when he drove a truck for Black Tip Racing out of Naples Florida. (back before they went to dedicated pit stop crews). Helped him put his seat in and put screen over the radiator intake for debris. Had a blast. 2/3 the way through the race we broke a valve spring and owner said park it. This was back when a low budget team could compete.
 
I remember Morgan telling a story about a kid wanting an autograph but Morgan couldnt write and the kid made fun of him so Morgan asked him if he could take a four barrel Carb apart or build a engine from the ground up? It embarrassed him and he set his mind to it and learned how to read and write.
 
Hate to see this. He seems like such a good guy. JL never pissed me off more than when he berated him for being in the way. I hope this doesn’t get him down too much.
