I've always wondered how much the success of the driver impacts the level of fanfare for a paint scheme. Are there any paint schemes that we'd consider to be iconic that rode in the back? And shouldn't that be possible since we're specifically talking about the paint on the car and nothing else?

While I like the "Shooting Star '87, '88, '89" version better the one you posted is definitely the more iconic version imo.

Its THE Mark Martin scheme to me. That and the #2 I posted are automatic to anyone who followed the sport in the 90s
