One of the absolute worst days of the year coming up later today. I'm gonna have to mow that grass for the first time of the season knowing that a long year of mowing is still ahead of me. With the mild winter and early spring I think this will be the earliest that I've ever had to mow. It's not that I hate mowing it's just that I have four acres to do each week. Oh well.....

I had my son spray the outside of the house with bug spray today. We had an unusually warm spell last week and my cats' food dishes got attacked by some rather industrious ants. I had to sprinkle cinnamon along their trail to run them off. This stuff he sprayed is supposed to kill, and/or detour, everything from ants to spiders. It worked pretty well last year, but we had a pretty bad bug issue before I used it. Hopefully, we sprayed early enough to keep most of the bugs at bay this year.

Temps only got to 43 yesterday. I made it about a third of the way through the mowing before my hands felt like they'd fall off. It wouldn't have been bad had it not been for the wind. I felt more like I should have been shoveling snow than mowing the grass. We had temps in the 70's and 80's for a little over the week and this morning it's back down to 23 degrees out there. Had to cover the delicate plants last night to keep all of the flowers from falling off today.
