After multiple surgeries, the loss of one leg after a circulation problem, stupidity on the part of the surgeon that left him with only a small stump, then losing his remaining toes a month ago (A FINE NEW DOCTOR!), my pain in the butt is back home.
He has to get a ride about 2 hours away for his next Dr visit to remove the stiches from his foot, but he should then be able to walk with his prosthesis and crutches.
In the meantime, he sleeps on the sofa in the den, but is sure looking forward to sleeping in his own bed again!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Prayers are with you and Mr Kat. Hope things go much better for you both.

Glad he's home Kat.

My dad had his leg removed two summers ago for poor circulation. He has other problems now but I feel for you.

You and your hubby take care.

I got home from the hosapital about an hour ago, and have been on the go since dawn! Mike had a relatively minor surgical procedure today (they debrided the wound, ground a little bone and flushed it good). I was able to accompany him to the operating room and they brought him back to his room in about 2 1/2 hours. His vitals looked good and his BP was well within reason. (113/77)
I stayed and talked with his nurse (Abby) and she is a sweetheart! He was still out of it when my ride came to pick me up, but much more coherent than when I spoke with him last night.

FYI, he was admitted to a local hospital almost 2 weeks ago for pain control, AND WE HAVE NO INSURANCE OR INCOME!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

go buy a cup car and be a go or go home car. 5 or 8 43rd place finishes should pay all the bills. Stay out another 12 laps and maybe you can get 42nd or 41st.

take care!

You wanna drive for us Magnet? KEWL Nascar will pick up the tab from all their billions (sarcastic humor).

Thanks and I read it as dark humor, which I like!

sure, once i turn 18 lemme go get nascar certified lol thats another 2 years but at least i'd fulfill my idea of taking a year off and following the cup circuit across the country

Kat, you and your husband are in my prayers and thoughts.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww, Kat. That's such a burden to have to bear.
I'm here if ya just wanna let it all go!!!!!
Prayers are coming your way!!!!!!!

And ditto to Professur; I ain't gonna go to Ga. and get sick!!!!!

My dear Dragonlady......THANK YOU!

They finally removed the drain from his foot today, and changed his pain meds.
I got a bill today (haven't told him yet) for the hyperbaric treatment and it's almost $10,000 dollars! I'm in shock, and we have no insurance!

Think of you and Hubby often. I hope our prayers start kicking in for you soon.

Thank you muggle, one can NEVER have enough prayers being prayed, and I include all my internet friends in mine.

I haven't been here in while. So sorry he's back in the hospital, Kat. I'll be praying for you two. Hugs to you.

Here we are almost a week later and he is still in the hospital, but Doc told him today that the tissue is growing back and covering the bone that was exposed.
Quite honestly, altho I MISS HIM A LOT, he is being treated by professionals who are specialists in the field, so I won't complain! I THANK GOD for his posative attitude and I thank each of you for the healing thoughts and prayers.

And there's why Canada has a 50% tax rate. Although I'll wager you didn't have to deal with any waiting lists.

BUT, Prof your "taxes" are so much higher! You are paying for everybody else and there is a LOT of smuggled stuff crossing the boarder (like cigaretts).

Yup. But when Mum was found with cancer last year, there wasn't even a thought of "the treatment might put the family in debt for years to come." It was already paid for.

*UPDATE*

Mr Kat is STILL in the hospital but healing due to the great care he is getting. He has been going for Hyperbaric Therapy 5 days a week to encourage the tissue to regrow and heal the wound, and it's working! He has been fitted for a special shoe (pretty ugly) and once that comes in he will have physical therapy using his prosthesis and the "shoe" as he will need to learn to walk all over again.
The bills keep coming in, and at this point they are approaching $210,000! We have an attorney working on SSI Disability and Medicaid for him, so we try not to worry.
Please keep praying!

my thoughts and prayers go out to y'all.glad to hear he is getting better.hang in there.

After 6 weeks in the hospital, MR KAT WAS DISCHARGED TODAY! He still has a long way to go in terms of physical therapy and the wound is not fully closed, BUT HE IS HOME!!!!!
