Mr Kat, Mike, is back in the hospital :( After weeks of trying to see his own doctor, no medications, trips to the ER, he finally got to see his vascular surgeon today. Doc did a Doplar on what's left of his only foot and said "I'm admitting you".
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and I PRAY that he doesn't lose any more body parts to PVD!

My thoughts and prayers for Mr. Kat and for you. Here's hoping he gets thru this latest problem quickly.

Kat, prayers to Mr Kat and you.

Mr Kat will be having more surgery on Friday. Hopefully a "Rotor Rooter" job and maybe even a stint in his thigh or groin area.

I just want you to know that my testicles crawled so far back up inside me when I read that, that I'm having trouble swallowing. Thanks.

Is that something like the pinus puckering?

Damn Kat, when it rains it pours...

If you want me to call email me...

Thanks for calling HWY!
More tests tomorrow just to make sure he CAN undergo the "Balloon" thingy on Friday, not sure yet on the stint, but it didn't work on the leg he already lost. I think he just ignored the symptoms until it was far too late.

Doc just came in to visit Mike, and he DID do a shunt! Took a vein out of his abdomen and bypassed the bad one in his leg! He is feeling 95% better and is getting some much needed pain med now. Doc even raised hell with the Charge Nurse that his Rx orders were NOT being followed! Doc had a Vascular Surgical Resident with him and explained the step by step procedures he followed in terms even Mike could understand!
Maybe I can get some sleep tonight!

Glad Mike is doing bettter...you keep raising hell and asking questions. You and Mike have the right to know ( by law) what is being done as far as treatments, medications, therapy etc.

Kat, I don't know what to say but do know that I am thinking of you and the Mr.........

GREAT NEWS! Mike will be home tomorrow or Wed!

I'm thankful to you all for your thoughts, prayers and kindness! It's REAL people like you that help keep me going!

 That's great news kat.Glad to hear that mr kat is feeling much better. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Maybe today??? He had an allergic reaction to one of his medications, so Doc is being cautious (For which I'm grateful!)

Another reaction? Or the same one? The side effects should be subsiding by now since he has been off the meds since teusday(?)...

MR KAT (MIKE) IS HOME!!!!!

He was brought home by Cab last evening, and the hospital paid for the cab!
He must have 5000 staples from his groin area all the way to his ankle! :eek2:

NOW our only problem is getting his car home from the hospital by noon tomorrow, or it will be towed and it will cost $500 to get it back! :( Neither of us are able to drive right now, and our dear friend is out of town. The key is at home, or I would call AAA!

Mr Kat (Mike) saw his Dr. today and the million staples were removed! We both were scared that there was an infection, and his amputation site was turning blue, plus he was in a hell of a lot of pain!
DAMN, HE GOT GREAT NEWS!!!! NO infection, Doc said it's supposed to look like that because the surgery worked and the blood IS circulating well!
He had to be transported by cab, but the cabbie came up to the front porch (about 30 steps UP) and CARRIED Mike to the cab during a downpour! He also put the wheelchair in the trunk, and agreed to meet Mike at the doctor's office to bring him home! He also drove him by the Hospital Pharmacy and got the wheelchair out of the trunk again and waited WITHOUT the meter running! What a joy to meet someone like him!
I called the cab company and commended him to them, and they said that not only were they putting my commendation, but telling him too. I told them that he deservs a GOLD MEDAL! I gave him a very generous tip when he brought Mike home and he even brought the wheelchair up to the house.
His name is unpronouncable, and I believe he is a LEGAL immigrant from West Africa.
It was an expensive cab ride, so please send $$$$$$$$$$
