Please note the sarcasm. I am comparing his trouble with the car setup to Jr's trouble with the car setup.

It seems to me that Newman did not have any luck with the set up for the race. Now it may not have been as severe as juniors, but it still was not a good car. Penske has just as many resources as DEI, Newmans teammate had a good setup in his car (rusty vs Mikey).

So my point is there are a lot of variables that go into a set up. Shocks, springs, wedge, etc. There are probably thousaunds of different combinations of things they could try. I am not even going to think I know all the items as I can barely change my own oil.

These are the best teams in the world, but sometimes they can't get it right.

As other people have said in another thread, I can't figure out either how these two top level teams can be that bad on any given day...if they can miss it that much, is it possible that a team who misses every week have a shot at nailing it? aka Larry Foyt could in one week put the right package together and put four laps on the field????

I'll but those cars are either for sale right now or are being cut up as we speak...

Nah.... they are probably future show cars.

Seriously,Dino, do you see Jr's run yesterday and Newman's as being that similar? By the end of the race, Ryan had finally dialed his car in even though trapped two laps down. He could run with the leaders. Jr.on the other hand ran into the garage about ten times and never could get the car dialed even close all day. Seems like apples and oranges to me a little.

Jr's run yesterday reminded me of Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard's second fight where Roberto just threw his hands up and quit when the going got tough. That easy to surrender attutude is what DOESN't win titles.

'Pathetic' is the right word ok---but it applies much more to Jr's run yesterday than it does to Ryan Newman's.

Just my opinion on it. Not a bash.

One good thing I saw out of the 8 team --- they did keep trying to find a solution. They didn't quit until there was no more to be gained in positions.
